The Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Award for Social Responsibility in Baden-Württemberg (Lea-Mittelstandspreis) recognizes small and medium-sized companies for their voluntary social engagement.

The Lea-Mittelstandspreis is awarded by Caritas, Diakonie, and the Ministry of Economics, Labor, and Housing in Baden-Württemberg. The Lea Trophy has been awarded since 2007. Lea stands for Achievement, Engagement, and Recognition.

The joint goal of the organizers is to promote the concept of responsible corporate management in the sense of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The focus is on collaborations between private sector companies and non-profit organizations. Successful cooperation between these two actors strengthens society and helps address social and societal issues. They serve as role models and good examples. The voluntary social engagement of small and medium-sized enterprises is an expression of social responsibility and thus forms the foundation for a stable, solidaric, and open society. Moreover, this action is strategic and economically wise and contributes to the economic success of the companies.

One of the companies that qualified for the Lea-Mittelstandspreis 2019 is Ingenieurbüro & Reinraumservice Egon Buchta GmbH.

With their commitment to the SOS Training and Employment Center Saarbrücken, they help young people and unemployed young adults open up new professional prospects. Buchta is also a sponsor of the SOS Children's Village Lusaka/Zambia and the SOS Children's Village Schwarzwald, the second-oldest children's village in Germany. Additionally, the company supports the Skizunft Betzingen, promotes swimming lessons at the Spatzenvilla daycare, sponsors the Disc Golf Club Achalm, and participated in acquiring a citizen bus for Wannweil.

To confirm his social engagement, Mr. Buchta received a certificate during the award ceremony of the Lea-Mittelstandspreis at the New Palace in Stuttgart.
