From the local garage to a newly built production hall: The business success with health products has already required SanaCare from South Hesse's Alsbach-Hähnlein to move for the third time within 14 years. In 2002, company founder and senior boss Ronald Fischer began experimenting with acidic and alkaline waters. Meanwhile, the family business employs eight full-time staff and two part-time helpers. From the mountain road, the water is exported worldwide for regulating the acid-base balance as well as other health products such as medicinal mushrooms, eye drops, or creams, among others to the USA and Eastern Europe. For years, the company has maintained a sales organization in Switzerland, and another in China is currently being established. Additionally, a second production site is to be built there. For the new production hall in Alsbach-Hähnlein, SanaCare was looking for a durable, impact-resistant floor that is resistant to chemicals and easy to clean. After extensive research, the management decided

No drying or waiting times

Thanks to the nora nTx technology, several steps such as applying adhesive, drying, and ventilation are eliminated compared to conventional wet bonding. Because the self-adhesive rubber floor already comes with a rubber-based adhesive on the back from the factory, it can be laid cleanly and securely in just a few steps. Classic epoxy-based primers are not necessary. Likewise, on flat substrates such as ribbed concrete or rolled concrete, the need for spackling the substrate can be waived. With the new installation technology, time and money can thus be saved. Furthermore, the straightforward installation eliminates sources of error, such as incorrect timing for laying into the adhesive bed or adhesive displacement. Once the substrate is prepared, the installation itself is very simple: lay out, remove protective foil, stick down, roll—done. Depending on the size of the area to be covered, installation including substrate preparation can already be completed in just one workday.

Installation without dust and dirt

But SanaCare had another reason to choose nora nTx: it was important to the managing directors that there be as little dust and dirt during the work as possible, and that hall and auxiliary rooms could already be arranged and used during installation. "Everything remained clean during processing, and we could walk on the floor immediately," says Junior boss Marcel Fischer happily.

Extensive testing beforehand

SanaCare produces between 2,500 and 3,000 bottles of alkaline and acidic water monthly. During filling, it can happen that some liquid from the containers gets onto the floor. "We therefore tested the norament tiles intensively over four weeks beforehand and repeatedly applied different solutions during this time," explains Marcel Fischer. "None of the liquids could penetrate the rubber surface; they could be wiped away easily." Even driving with forklift trucks cannot damage the robust norament 926 grano with its hammer finish surface and characteristic grain design. It has been one of the most popular nora floors for decades, especially when the substrate is exposed to high loads, as in industrial operations. Fischer also sees another advantage: "If, through heavy impacts, the floor does get damaged, the tiles—like all norament products generally—can be easily replaced, which would not be possible with epoxy resin." Due to the extremely dense surface, rubber floors are also very easy to clean.

Comprehensive support from nora

The managing directors of SanaCare also highly appreciate the support from the nora team: "We received comprehensive advice before the construction project and were then supported throughout by nora application specialists," say Ronald and Marcel Fischer in unison. Even after the installation was completed, the nora staff continued to provide advice and assistance. "We felt well taken care of from start to finish."
