Large order for Weiss Klimatechnik

The Heart and Diabetes Center North Rhine-Westphalia (HDZ NRW), Bad Oeynhausen, has commissioned the climate technology and cleanroom specialist Weiss Klimatechnik GmbH (WKT) from Reiskirchen with the planning, delivery, and installation of a cleanroom for its central pharmacy. The contract volume amounts to 1.6 million euros, with the total investment volume approximately 2 million euros. Planning began as early as January. The turnkey and officially approved project will be handed over in August 2014. The project includes the planning and construction of a GMP cleanroom for the production of cytostatics and sterile products by Weiss Klimatechnik as the general contractor.

This also includes equipment with a sterilizer, furniture, flooring, electrical installation, and process equipment such as scales, incubators, refrigerators, and safety cabinets. Additionally, WKT was tasked with preparing and obtaining the necessary building permit. Furthermore, the company is responsible for structural calculations, fire protection, and support for the official approval of the cleanroom for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The Heart and Diabetes Center NRW, Bad Oeynhausen, is among the internationally leading specialized clinics for the treatment of heart, circulatory, and diabetes diseases. The new cleanroom meets the current requirements of the Pharmacy Operating Regulations for a modern cytostatic laboratory according to the Medicines Act (§13 AMG). The long-standing experience and specialized knowledge of Weiss Klimatechnik in the field of cleanroom and process technology were decisive for commissioning the cleanroom project.

The HDZ NRW has been working with Weiss Klimatechnik for several years. For example, WKT has recently equipped the clinic with special operating room ceiling ventilation systems according to the latest standards.

For Weiss Klimatechnik, this is an "important project, through which we can demonstrate our expertise in the field of cleanroom technology, especially in sterile manufacturing," emphasizes Karl-Heinz Lotz, Head of the Strategic Business Area Cleanroom at Weiss Klimatechnik.
