Laborial installs the first interactive worktops created specifically for laboratories and cleanrooms

Laborial - Laboratory Solutions, a company specialized in laboratory furniture and engineering projects for controlled environments, such as laboratories and hospitals' sensitive areas, recently installed its new product Blautouch at the Gulbenkian Science Institute (IGC) and at the largest Iberian laboratory for food testing, Controlvet.

Blautouch consists of a tempered glass interactive work surface, thoroughly smooth and continuous, supported by a powder-coated steel frame or polished stainless steel, specifically developed for areas where contamination is critical, such as cleanrooms and other controlled environments. Besides the interactive glass, the system includes a full-HD LCD-LED and a mini-PC. These electronic components are integrated into a sealed metal case.

This product solves the problems associated with the use of tablets, notebooks, computers, keyboards, mice, and other computing devices in areas where contamination is a major concern. It allows users to work with any software they usually use (e.g., digital notebooks, LIMS, wikis, analysis software, office applications...) directly on the work surface, complying with regulations and maintaining the asepsis of the controlled environment.

Many institutions, such as IGC, prohibit access to computer devices in some of their most critical laboratories due to the high contamination risk associated with handling these devices. The Blautouch interactive work surface is the perfect solution for facilities where both asepsis and access to information are crucial for the laboratory's safety and productivity.
