Camfil's Laboratory at the Tech Center in Trosa, Sweden has been successfully accredited according to the current standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017. This standard is the most important international standard for general requirements and quality assurance for testing laboratories and calibration laboratories.

The laboratory at Camfil's Research and Development Center in Trosa tests particulate filters, gas turbine filters, airborne particle filters, and molecular filters. The certification according to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 focuses on testing of particulate filters (according to ISO 16890) and airborne particle filters (according to EN 1822 and ISO 29463).

Developed in collaboration with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), this standard enables laboratories to implement a robust quality management system and demonstrate that they are technically competent and capable of producing valid, reproducible, and reliable results.

The accreditation involves regular audits to ensure that certification is impartial, correct, and based on internationally recognized standards. This also facilitates collaboration between laboratories and official bodies by standardizing and making methods and results comparable across countries. Test reports and certificates can be recognized from one country to another, thereby improving international trade.

The Tech Center of Camfil

In June 2021, Camfil announced the expansion of its state-of-the-art research and development center in Trosa. Covering a total area of 2,500 square meters, the Tech Center serves as an innovation hub for product and process solutions. The expansion aims to meet the growing demand for energy-efficient, sustainable air filtration solutions from Camfil. The significantly enlarged research and development area will also be used for training and further education offerings for customers. Another part of the expansion will be dedicated to modernizing production facilities and equipment, including research and development of raw materials.

Overall, Camfil's Tech Center has five laboratories dedicated to research and innovation in the fields of particulate filtration, molecular filtration, indoor air quality, and air filtration for energy generation systems. The new area was built to increase research capacity, especially in molecular contamination control, air filtration for energy systems, and energy-efficient and sustainable raw materials.
