Knowing how it works: At POWTECH 2017 (September 26-28, Nuremberg Exhibition Centre), visitors can expect an extensive technical program. In lectures, seminars, live demonstrations, guided tours, and two special exhibitions, powder and bulk material professionals from every industry will gain practical knowledge to take away. The Expert Forum in Hall 2 and the Pharma.Manufacturing.Excellence Forum in Hall 3A feature international experts and users sharing their best practices. Attendees will also encounter new research findings, solutions, and talents of tomorrow in the Generation Future special area in Hall 3.

The novelty showcase, networking hub, and platform for knowledge exchange – alongside around 850 exhibiting companies from around the world – make the accompanying trade fair program a magnet for visitors. Visiting POWTECH means learning from other experts and industries, contributing oneself, and returning home with new knowledge. The first point of contact for knowledge-hungry visitors is the POWTECH Expert Forum in Hall 2. The nonstop lecture and discussion program covers topics such as digital transformation for handling and processing bulk materials (Tuesday, 26.09.) and dust extraction (Thursday, 28.09.).

Looking ahead

In Hall 3, the Generation Future special area provides a preview of tomorrow’s powder, bulk, and particle technologies. Universities and institutes will present their research results here.

Visitors can, among other things, engage with numerous university groups, developers from the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies, the Institute for Applied Construction Research Weimar, or the renowned Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology at the University of Greenwich. A current job exchange connects professionals and jobs from the bulk materials industry. The ProcessNet Café, organized by DECHEMA and VDI-GVC, is also located in the Generation Future area and invites visitors to exchange ideas with experts and colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere.

Meet the global bulk community

More than one-third of exhibitors and visitors at POWTECH come from abroad. The ideal opportunity for cross-border networking is the International Day (Wednesday, 27.09.). In the NCC East Congress Center, an international bulk associations meeting takes place in the morning – with participation from the UK, Japan, Spain, and the Netherlands. In the afternoon, the international subsidiary fairs of POWTECH World will present themselves. Throughout the entire trade fair, the POWTECH World Café in Hall 3A serves as a meeting point for all bulk globetrotters and interested visitors.

Produce safer and cleaner

Daily live demonstrations by IND EX e.V. in the outdoor area between Halls 3A and 4A showcase explosion protection equipment effectiveness – including spectacular bang and fire effects. Daily guided tours on explosion protection bring interested professionals together with some of the most innovative providers in this field. The VDMA Special Association for General Air Technology presents the Dust-Free Future special exhibition in Hall 2, with numerous exhibits. It focuses on how to comply with required limit values and what suitable solutions exist for dust separation in production.

Learn about the latest pharmaceutical technologies

The Pharma.Manufacturing.Excellence Forum in Hall 3A, organized by APV, is aimed specifically at producers of pharmaceutical and related products. Through concise short lectures and discussions, visitors experience what moves the industry. Next door, the exhibition hall transforms into an exemplary pharmaceutical production site: the Focus Pharma-Formulations special exhibition covers about 300 square meters with around 20 machines and systems for key process steps from milling to particle analysis. Complementing this, the scientific seminar series Pharma-Formulations at the NCC East Congress Center offers high-caliber lectures. Keynotes include Prof. Peter Kleinebudde on particle analysis, Dr.-Ing. Sandra Breitung-Faes on milling and nanomilling, and Prof. Evangelos Tsotsas on simulation of pharmaceutical process steps. The milling and nanomilling topic on the second seminar day will be conducted in English.
