Jungheinrich relies on Piepenbrock for site security

Since February 2023, Piepenbrock has taken over the plant security for Jungheinrich Norderstedt AG & Co. KG. The building service provider was able to convince with its young and dynamic appearance as well as its quality during the tender process.

Since 1967, electric pallet trucks, high-lift trucks, and reach trucks have been rolling off the production line at Jungheinrich's plant in Norderstedt near Hamburg. In addition to manufacturing, Jungheinrich, one of the largest companies in intralogistics, hosts administration offices, a canteen and office complex, its own training center, as well as a research and development center for electromobility and modern lithium-ion batteries on the 214,000-square-meter site with 1,800 employees in Norderstedt. The security of the facility will now be in the hands of Piepenbrock: The tender for plant security in Norderstedt was awarded to the service provider in August 2022.

Security on the plant premises

Around the clock, 365 days a year, the Piepenbrock Hamburg branch has been responsible for security on the enclosed premises since February 1, 2023. In three shifts, the Piepenbrock team handles gate duties, truck dispatching, as well as patrol and patrol services with fixed control routes. Modern technology ensures and documents the security on the plant premises. Alexander Arndt, Branch Manager for Security at Piepenbrock Hamburg, knows what matters: “During our patrols, we pay attention to details that are often overlooked. Are there any damages to buildings? Do emergency lights work, and are all doors locked? We document everything precisely according to customer requirements. Overall, smooth processes and the safety of all persons are the focus. Such visual inspections, which can be quickly overlooked in busy everyday life, are an important first step toward plant security.” Piepenbrock relies on tested security personnel, security specialists, and personnel with certified expertise according to Paragraph 34a. On call, the Piepenbrock team also takes on special assignments for the customer.

Sustainable collaboration with a focus on quality

The security contract was recently launched after implementation. “It was important for us to accurately capture the customer's needs,” recalls Arndt. Both Piepenbrock and Jungheinrich value the regular personal and digital exchange. “We want to help Jungheinrich establish its plant security for the future with our security solutions,” says Arndt. “I am proud to work for Jungheinrich. The entire team is motivated to prove itself to the customer – in a highly demanding service with equally high standards.” Oliver Bornkast, Project Manager at Jungheinrich, is also looking forward to working with Piepenbrock: “The implementation of the project was exemplary on Piepenbrock’s part. We are now very much looking forward to starting the collaboration.”
