item Industrial Technology brings practical experience to the university: students in Costa Rica conduct research in a new ergonomics laboratory on work systems of the Solingen company. item will also be involved in the planned expansion of the laboratory.

Opening of the new research laboratory at the University of Costa Rica

The University of Costa Rica has established an ergonomics laboratory at its San José campus for research and teaching purposes, equipped with components of the item workstation system, such as the height-adjustable workbenches 2 F and mobile systems. The materials were handed over during the university exhibition "Semana de la ingenieria industrial" by item America LLC and the local item partner ENESA Equipos Neumáticos S. A.

The future engineers can practically apply their theoretical knowledge at an item sample workstation and thus research ergonomic work design: starting with the adjustment of work and seat height based on anthropometric criteria, through the arrangement of materials and tools, to lighting and information presentation. To support lectures and courses professionally, the item partner ENESA will conduct product presentations at the university. In the future, an expansion of the laboratory into an ergonomics and lean manufacturing center is planned, for which item will provide its Lean Production System toolbox.
