IST AG expands headquarters in Ebnat-Kappel

The sensor specialist Innovative Sensor Technology IST AG, headquartered in Ebnat-Kappel in the Toggenburg region of Switzerland, is on a growth trajectory. To meet the increasing demands for production and space, the company's headquarters is being expanded. An extension is being built directly next to the existing building at Stegrütistrasse 14 in Ebnat-Kappel. Since early September, there has been lively activity on the construction site.

IST AG has been steadily growing in recent years. The company now employs around 350 people worldwide, with over 200 at the headquarters in Switzerland. "With the expansion, we are gaining important infrastructure that we urgently need for both expanding our production and our office space," explains Dr. Jörn Lützen, Production Manager of IST AG and Construction Project Manager. "As production volumes increase and employee numbers grow, we are reaching our space limits. The new building will allow us to expand production accordingly and continue to offer employees an attractive workplace."

The extension will double the available space. To maintain short distances between different areas, the two buildings will be connected. In addition to a large production area including an extra cleanroom, there will be new office spaces, more space for the large development department, and a larger canteen. Peter Anderegg, Head of Finance and Human Resources at IST AG, looks forward to the spatial expansion and the opportunities it will create. "Through the expansion, we are strengthening our location in Ebnat-Kappel and our importance as an employer in the region," says Anderegg. The construction work is expected to continue until fall 2018.
