Investment in the future

Forward-looking and optimistic, ebm-papst is already preparing for the post-Corona era. At the company's headquarters in Mulfingen, the technology leader in fans and motors is investing nearly 20 million euros in three new buildings. ebm-papst will implement these with local companies and, as usual, pay attention to high environmental standards.

For its electronics development, an important component of intelligent fan solutions, ebm-papst is constructing an additional production building, creating an extra 5,000 square meters for research and development over the next 24 months.

The new building particularly emphasizes modern and future-oriented workplaces to accommodate new working methods such as agile working in flexible project teams. On the ground floor, existing social rooms will also be renewed and expanded.

Two additional buildings are planned by ebm-papst on its factory grounds in Mulfingen-Hollenbach. One will be a new construction of 3,800 square meters for the maintenance department. This will support the manufacturing of machines and tools for producing new fan innovations. A fan testing hall will also be built on 2,600 square meters to ensure the highest quality.

The construction period for both buildings will be around 15 months.

Recently, in January 2021, ebm-papst further expanded its development expertise in electromagnetic compatibility by completing a new EMC laboratory in Mulfingen. Over 50 researchers and developers at the fan specialist analyze components in an area of up to 60 square meters, weighing up to 3.5 tons, supporting the growing use of electronics in its products.

During the 14-month construction period, ebm-papst invested a total of 12 million euros, focusing on the regional construction industry.
