Investment in the future: Universal Robots cooperates with three universities in Austria

Universal Robots becomes a sponsor of FH Campus 02, University of Applied Sciences for Business in Graz, and the Digital Factory Research Center at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences in Dornbirn. Additionally, the Danish company enters into a partnership with MCI - Management Center Innsbruck. With this, the global leader in collaborative robotics makes a smart investment in the future and simultaneously strengthens its presence in Austria.

"Our future lies in the hands of our pupils and students, who passionately and committedly develop and drive new solutions," says Andrea Alboni, Sales Manager Universal Robots D/A/CH. "Therefore, it is a logical step for Universal Robots to support and promote these young talents," Alboni continues. Through cooperation with three Austrian universities, Universal Robots aims to introduce students early on to the topic of "collaborative robotics" in general and Universal Robots' cobots in particular. "Automation is an essential part of the working world of tomorrow. It is all the more important to provide today's students with as practical a robotics education as possible so they can navigate the automated manufacturing environments of the future," emphasizes Andrea Alboni. Planned activities include joint research projects, seminar papers, and events on automation, collaborative robotics, and human-robot collaboration.

MCI - Management Center Innsbruck

The cooperation between Universal Robots and the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) relates to the Center for Robotics, Production & Automation at MCI. The center, which focuses on the connection between business and science, is a joint initiative of MCI and the Tirol Industrial Association (IV-Tirol). The goal of the facility is to support companies in implementing new technologies. This is also the driving force behind the collaboration between Universal Robots and MCI: to demonstrate and make accessible to companies and students the possibilities of current and emerging technologies and methodological approaches within the field of "Smart Production".

This project is implemented together with Schmachtl, an Austrian distributor of Universal Robots, by hosting events, workshops, and seminars on the MCI campus. Furthermore, joint research projects are planned, for which students can use Universal Robots' collaborative robots.

Digital Factory, Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, Dornbirn

Universal Robots promotes forward-looking projects in the field of collaborative robotics through its sponsorship, one of the research focuses of the Digital Factory, the research center of Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences. The Digital Factory is conceived as a digital learning and research factory that develops and tests innovative methods of digital control and networking of production facilities and systems.

FH Campus 02, University of Applied Sciences for Business, Graz

Applied research and development, oriented toward immediate benefits for the economy, is the core competence of FH Campus 02, University of Applied Sciences for Business in Graz, alongside teaching. Universal Robots is not only a sponsor of FH Campus 02 but also a partner of the annual automation study program "Innovation of Automation". As part of the collaboration, the company has access to the university's facilities for its own seminars and events. In recognition of the sponsorship, a lecture hall at Campus 02 is named after Universal Robots.
