Intelligent monitoring keeps corrosion in check
Freudenberg's ChemWatch S enables real-time assessment of air quality to better protect operations and equipment.
With the ChemWatch S Air Corrosivity Monitoring System, Freudenberg Filtration Technologies introduces the latest generation of its corrosion monitoring solutions. By analyzing air quality in real-time, it limits the risks of corrosion damage to electronic components and metal surfaces. Intuitive to operate and compatible with a variety of applications – rarely has it been so easy to ensure clean air and a safe working environment.
Metal surfaces and electronic components are more sensitive than one might think. Especially in industrial environments such as pulp and paper production, oil and chemical processes, data centers, metal and steel processing, or enclosed server rooms. Corrosive fumes and gases can cause severe damage here. As a result, productivity suffers, maintenance costs increase, and unplanned downtime becomes inevitable. One solution is the installation of gas phase filters that reduce pollutants in the air. Furthermore, monitoring systems can ensure conductivity by detecting early leaks or the end of the service life of the gas phase filter.
Monitoring of corrosion severity levels G1 to GX
The ChemWatch S from Freudenberg provides reliable information about corrosion risk from acidic gases by continuously monitoring temperature, relative humidity, and corrosion content in the air via four modern sensors. It complies with the ANSI / ISA 71.04-2013 standard and helps in early detection of gas leaks and disturbance sources. This allows immediate reaction to protect sensitive components and ensure a safe working environment.
The compact ChemWatch S is easy to set up and operate, features an intuitive, detailed dashboard, and supports all common operating systems (iOS, Android, Windows, Linux). It connects via Ethernet or wireless connection. Measurement data can be quickly exported from the dashboard in XLSX or PDF format or via a Modbus connection. Since users can access the data anytime and anywhere through the dashboard, no additional display is necessary. This makes the ChemWatch S more robust and cost-effective than previous sensor systems.
Uploading data in real-time
The latest generation is smaller but delivers no less performance. The internal memory can record more than two years of data, while cloud-based data transmission via MQTT occurs in real-time. Thanks to optimized interface compatibility, information from multiple devices and process control systems can be consolidated and analyzed via the cloud. Additionally, the ChemWatch S supports Azure Cloud and other Microsoft applications and can be seamlessly integrated to ensure maximum reliability and data control.
The customer has a choice
If you prefer to keep everything directly in view and want to use an analog data output, the standard ChemWatch is a good choice. It features a color display on the front. A diagram shows whether the harmful gas concentration is in the "green zone" and how it has developed over time. Additionally, the standard ChemWatch has an integrated, removable data medium. This can be read at another, non-sensitive location if data transmission at the device site is not possible for security reasons.
