Innovative protective clothing solutions for industry and fire brigade

At this year's A+A, DuPont Personal Protection (ipp.dupont.com), Luxembourg, will showcase at its booth A40 in Hall 5 how complex occupational safety requirements across different industries can be met with its extensive range of protective clothing solutions made from Tyvek®, Tychem®, Kevlar®, and Nomex®. The focus of the exhibition presentation will be on the new Tychem® chemical protective gloves, new heat and flame protection solutions based on the innovative Nomex® Nano and Nomex® Nano Flex technologies, as well as innovative glove solutions made from Kevlar®. Additionally, the company will present the winners of the Kevlar® Glove Innovation Awards 2019 and other current products from its comprehensive range of protective clothing against chemicals, pathogens, heat and flames, as well as cuts and abrasions.

Chemical protective gloves and suits now from a single source

New to DuPont Personal Protection's portfolio are the chemical protective gloves marketed under the brand name Tychem® (www.tychemgloves.dupont.com). The total of 13 models available in five materials cover almost the entire spectrum of chemical protection requirements and are an optimal complement to the company's protective clothing offerings. The reason for their introduction was the frequent customer demand for a complete product portfolio that allows users to obtain chemical protective suits and gloves from a single source. This ensures that both components are perfectly coordinated and compatible. Extensive permeation data for numerous chemicals encountered in industry are also available for the gloves, aiding in selecting the most suitable product for a specific application.

Furthermore, DuPont will showcase its latest chemical protective suits as well as its revised online product database DuPont™ SafeSPEC™ (safespec.dupont.de). With the help of the integrated interactive selector tool, safety managers can quickly find perfectly matched protective suit-glove combinations for more than 1,000 applications.

New Nomex® technologies for even better comfort and protection against toxic dust particles

Nomex® Nano is an innovative flame-resistant fiber from DuPont. Because it is thinner than other fibers used in firefighter gear, it allows a reduction in thermal insulation thickness by up to 40 percent without compromising thermal protection. As a result, protective clothing made from it offers improved mobility and flexibility, as well as reduced heat stress.

Nomex® Nano Flex is a new functional material that is extremely heat- and flame-resistant, highly elastic, breathable, and provides a very good barrier against fine particles. It not only reliably protects against heat but also prevents the ingress of tiny particles into protective clothing. Thus, suits and flame protection hoods made with Nomex® Nano Flex help reliably keep hazardous dust particles away from the skin.
