Innovative cleanroom solutions

Weidmann Medical Technology and the Netzer Group set new standards

Weidmann Medical Technology, a leading Swiss supplier of injection molding systems for the medical technology and pharmaceutical industries, faced a major challenge: integrating a new cleanroom into an existing building from 1945. The NETZER GROUP was commissioned for the structural and infrastructural requirements – a company known for its expertise and innovative strength.

The integration of the new 1,100 m2 ISO8 cleanroom into the existing space of the old building required high flexibility in planning and comprehensive know-how. "Especially in an old building, the infrastructure is also in a corresponding condition, which makes connecting it to the new one a particular challenge. The NETZER GROUP proved itself due to its unique expertise and comprehensive solution approach. The new ISO8 cleanroom was put into operation within a year. That was already sensational," says Uwe Tomschin, Executive Vice President Medical Division at the Weidmann Group.

There are a total of nine ISO classes for cleanrooms. However, in a cleanroom, it is not only the defined concentration of airborne particles that matters, but also the ability to precisely control cleanliness-related parameters such as temperature, humidity, and pressure. This high level of control requires special expertise and extensive experience in cleanroom technology.

This is exactly where the NETZER GROUP scores through its synergy of the three business areas: NETZER TGA (technical building equipment), NETZER MSR (measurement, control, and regulation technology), and NETZER RRT (cleanroom technology). This integrated approach enables the development and planning of cleanrooms that not only meet current requirements but also offer ecological and sustainable solutions for the future. Through the broad knowledge and experience potential of the NETZER GROUP, tailored cleanroom solutions are created for complex challenges.

A key component in implementing the cleanroom within the existing building was the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM), a digital process that optimizes the cleanroom from design through construction to commissioning and maintenance. This digital networking improves planning quality, collaboration, and accelerates the construction process, keeping costs and schedules in check. But that's not all: with comprehensive planning, cleanrooms and their infrastructure can be perfectly integrated into existing conditions.

The NETZER GROUP successfully implemented this goal on time and within budget, integrating and qualifying all trades related to the cleanroom. These groundbreaking solutions set new standards in technology, execution, and operational efficiency, demonstrating that the NETZER GROUP is capable of successfully realizing even the most demanding projects.
