All parameters can be conveniently controlled and visualized remotely and contactlessly. The operation of the IoT solution is carried out via the EFA smartphone app, compatible with common operating systems iOS and Android, offering functions such as visualization of the current door status, configuration of essential door settings like open hold time, and display of maintenance data, error logs, and current error messages including descriptions and root cause analysis. Thanks to smart networking with the manufacturer, users can also send service notifications directly to EFAFLEX if desired.

Doors communicate within the network

Within a network, multiple doors equipped with the smart system can be connected and communicate with each other as well as with the app. If a particularly high number of doors need to be managed, for example in large halls, this is also possible, as multiple networks can be operated in parallel. The module continuously transmits the current status report of each individual door to the app, from which the user can forward relevant data to the manufacturer if needed. As the operator of the door systems, they decide which of the available information they make accessible to EFAFLEX for further steps, such as status updates, fault reports, or maintenance issues. The app user can additionally supplement these with free-text information, such as explanations or requests for IT support or a technician. Moreover, messages to be sent can be supplemented with photos.

Well prepared for the digital future

Starting immediately, EFAFLEX will install the module in selected door controls. To also integrate and operate doors already in service with EFA-SmartConnect®, an additional circuit board will be integrated into the existing system, equipped with a QR code, serial number, and access data. This allows older door systems to be easily added to the network via the app—so operators can also enjoy the benefits of the innovative module with these systems.
