Pick up rollers from the pallet, turn, transport, and insert into the packaging machine: With the help of a mobile industrial lever lift, this can be done by a single person. HOVMAND, the world’s leading manufacturer of versatile lifting aids, will showcase a selection of its lift models for simplified goods handling and increased safety in production at this year's FachPack (Hall 4 / 4-131) in Nuremberg.

The battery-powered lifting and transport solutions from HOVMAND are made of stainless steel or aluminum and facilitate daily handling of heavy objects – such as packaging rolls, crates, barrels, or other raw material containers. With their help, one person can move loads of up to 300 kg alone in the production process, compliant with occupational safety regulations and back-friendly. This allows larger rolls to be used and downtime to be reduced, thereby accelerating internal processes overall.

QC3: Lifting of rolls and barrels up to 60 kg

At FachPack, the Danish manufacturer with sales headquarters in Munich will focus on its newly launched electric gripping tool QC3 from 2019, which enables safe and efficient handling of barrels and packaging materials up to 60 kg. The compact roll and barrel lifter QC3 can be combined with the mobile industrial lift Impact 130-3 or INOX 90-3. Thanks to versatile grippers, it is adaptable: rolls can be gripped on the outside and directly inserted into the packaging machine, or barrels can be lifted up to a height of 2.20 meters and emptied there – thanks to the special rotation and tilting function.

Thanks to their low weight, HOVMAND’s industrial lift trucks are easy to maneuver and space-saving. They can be integrated directly into existing production infrastructure without costly modifications. The use of the QC3 in hygienic areas is possible with INOX 90-3 – the lift is made of 100 percent stainless steel and features electropolished surfaces as well as protection class IP 66.

Over 40,000 possible lift configurations

HOVMAND’s Virtual Engineering App assists in the individual selection of suitable lever solutions. With its help, sales can assemble the right solution on-site at the customer from over 40,000 possible lift configurations. Thanks to environment scanning, the selected industrial lift can be visualized in a near-realistic manner within the actual workspace: surfaces and details are recognizable, and the lifting and gripping tools can also be operated. For this digital consulting solution, the family-owned company was awarded first place in the "Digitalization of Medium-Sized Companies" competition by the Danish Ministry of Business. The app is available in the Apple Store, compatible with iPads, and uses the latest Apple ARKit™ technology. With this service, Hovmand is a digitalization pioneer in the industry – the app is currently unique in this field.

The lifting and transport solutions have so far been developed at the headquarters in Sorø, Denmark. Due to the positive development of the family business, larger production capacities were now necessary, so HOVMAND moved to Køge – just outside the Danish capital Copenhagen – in spring 2019. There, an expanded production area and an innovation center are available for the continuous improvement and new development of industrial lift trucks.
