Pneumatic applications such as coating processes with liquid substances, blow-off sorting procedures, or high-speed dispensing operations place special demands on valves in terms of response time. To accelerate performance, SMC has developed the pilot-controlled high-speed solenoid valve of series DXT1215. In addition to a response time of 2.5 ms (ON) and 3 ms (OFF), the solution impresses with a high flow rate of up to 346 l/min (free flow) and an IP67 protection rating – and not only saves space due to its compact design but also energy through low power consumption of 1.5 W thanks to an energy-saving circuit.

When cycle times decrease and processes need to be swift, companies across industries rely on valves with short response times. Simultaneously, demands for space and energy efficiency are continuously increasing to achieve new savings potentials despite high performance. With the pilot-controlled high-speed solenoid valve of series DXT1215, SMC meets these high requirements – and goes even further. The valve, which is optionally available as 3/2- and 5/2-way versions, not only features a short response time of 2.5 ms (ON) and 3 ms (OFF). The specialist for pneumatic and electrical automation also enables a flow rate of up to 346 l/min (free flow) with this solution, focusing on a compact, energy-efficient, and safe design that covers a broad range of applications.

High-speed and powerful

To quickly realize blow-off sorting procedures or actuator movements, the DXT1215 series impresses with a short response time of 2.5 ms (ON) and 3 ms (OFF). This allows high-speed processes with high operational frequency, reducing cycle times and increasing productivity. Moreover, the short response time also extends the operational life of actuators. Because the actuator speed can be lower for the same total cycle time, the overall operational duration of an actuator is improved. At the same time, thanks to high flow rates, the pilot-controlled solenoid valve covers a wide range of applications: users can rely on a flow rate of up to 346 l/min (free flow) – calculated according to ISO 6358 under standard conditions with an inlet pressure of 0.6 MPa (relative pressure) and a pressure drop of 0.1 MPa.

Resilient and energy-efficient

In addition to high performance, SMC also kept the increasingly important requirements for compactness and energy savings in mind during development. Measuring 91.5 x 16 x 34 mm (L/W/H) and weighing only 96 g, the valve is suitable for tight spaces and enables space-saving and lightweight designs. In the version with an energy-saving circuit, power consumption is only 1.5 W (inrush current of 6 W, holding current of 1.5 W) – a significant advantage that ensures low energy costs and minimal heat generation, positively impacting the climate footprint as well.

Furthermore, the DXT1215 series features an IP67 protection rating, preventing the ingress of dust and liquids. The pilot-controlled high-speed solenoid valve can thus be used in harsh environments without additional protective measures such as enclosures or covers. This not only broadens the scope of applications but also saves space and material.
