Solutions for Hospital 4.0

Digitalization does not stop at medical technology – quite the opposite. The very high requirements for the hygienic suitability of display and input devices as well as housing surfaces, combined with the great variety of required product variants, play a significant role. Here, WÖHR demonstrates its great strength for every customer: highly flexible component production for small and medium batch sizes. The basis for this is development expertise and touchscreen manufacturing based on in-house glass processing. WÖHR selects and combines various optical bonding technologies depending on the requirements, ensuring that the display and touch panels produced in-house provide a clear, sharp image, tailored sensitivity, and optimal hygiene properties. Technology and size are almost entirely customizable for each customer.

Design, material, and construction – foil or glass keyboards for medical technology must be designed from the outset with the required hygienic properties in mind, both in product conception and in choosing the construction. Neither dust nor moisture may penetrate seams or housing edges. Seals and surface coatings are specifically adapted to withstand the harsh conditions of cleaning and disinfection cycles. For example, an antimicrobial surface prevents germ transfer where many fingers touch a device. If a control unit is made entirely of smooth glass without edges, this sealed surface provides the best basis for the highest hygiene standards. For complete design freedom – starting from just one piece – digital printing is an option. It allows all formats and sizes to be produced without the need for complex printing films or screen costs, enabling individual printing of each part at manageable costs.

Fanless cooling = energy-saving + hygienic

No one wants a “germ incubator,” especially not in medical technology! Here, passive cooling is key to ensuring hygienic enclosure design. Only without fans can it be guaranteed that an enclosure does not distribute potentially contaminated air throughout the room. WÖHR relies on technically sophisticated solutions for hygienic cooling that also utilize the enclosure as a heat sink. The design of the entire internal mechanics further helps prevent the spread of germs and bacteria. The motto here is “Stay cool instead of spreading dust.”

In-house manufacturing = higher + long-term availability

Through a very high degree of in-house manufacturing and a broad range of available materials and production processes, WÖHR ensures high availability and, thus, excellent long-term delivery capability.
