In Focus: Work Ergonomics and Efficiency Improvement

A flexible monitor mount for industrial applications, two additional models of the Multilift series of lifting columns, and the new heavy-duty cylinder SLZ 63 are the product innovations that RK Rose+Krieger GmbH will present at Motek in Stuttgart from October 5th to 8th, 2015. In addition, the Minden-based drive specialist will showcase inventive applications of its linear technology through exhibition displays, including an omnidirectional transport cart and a height-adjustable Pick-by-Light workstation. Visitors to the trade fair can also learn about linear axes for cleanroom applications from the RK Duoline Clean series and a research project by the Fraunhofer Institute on workplace design.

New electric cylinder for heavy-duty applications

With the SLZ 63, RK Rose+Krieger expands its electric cylinder portfolio with another electromechanical heavy-duty cylinder. Thanks to its square shape, grooves in the outer profile, and connection dimensions according to DIN ISO 15552, the SLZ 63 can be flexibly integrated into a wide range of customer-specific applications. Due to the parallel mounting of the motor, it has an ideal installation stroke ratio. The maximum stroke height is 1,000 mm, with up to 1,500 mm possible upon request. Standard variants of the cylinder are equipped with IP 54 protection, with IP 65 protection optionally available.

RK Rose+Krieger offers the compact new heavy-duty cylinder in three variants: The Fastline version with ball screw drive achieves travel speeds of up to 1,250 mm/s. The Powerline version with ball screw drive and the Powerline version with trapezoidal screw drive are capable of withstanding pushing and pulling forces of up to 10,000 N and 15,000 N, respectively. The heavy-duty cylinders with ball screw drive allow operation at 100% duty cycle. They will be available from January 2016, with versions featuring trapezoidal screws available from May 2016.

The RK monitor mount – vibration-proof and flexibly mountable

The new monitor mount for ergonomic alignment of monitors and touch panels up to 25 kg offers many degrees of freedom. The device-side connection options include VESA standards 75 mm and 100 mm, as well as a universal mounting plate. The mount is compatible with RK connection technology and the BLOCAN® profile system but can also be mounted on any other profile or wall. Typical applications include mounting navigation devices in construction and agricultural machinery or control, operation, and display devices on packaging machines, conveyor systems, or in climate control technology.

Lift columns Multilift II and Multilift II telescope – Plug & Work for synchronized applications

The uniquely flat electric lift column Multilift II achieves lifting forces up to 3,000 N and is suitable for synchronized adjustment tasks in custom and series machine construction as well as for height adjustment of assembly workbenches in ergonomic workplace systems. Specifically for this purpose, RK Rose+Krieger offers the Multilift II in a synchronized version as a pre-assembled Plug & Work package – to be experienced live at Motek. The new telescoping version of the Multilift, the Multilift II telescope, is the answer to increased customer demands for two-legged table systems. The lift column meets the ergonomic standard for work tables (DIN EN 527-1:2011) and features an optimal installation stroke ratio: The Multilift II telescope, with an installation size of 560 mm and a stroke length of 650 mm, also withstands pushing and pulling forces up to 3,000 N. This is currently unique on the market in this design.

Innovative applications with profile and linear technology from RK Rose+Krieger

RK Rose+Krieger is using this year's Motek to showcase some innovative applications of its linear, profile, and modular technology, including an omnidirectional transport system designed by Imetron GmbH for workshops and production halls. The setups are based on the BLOCAN® profile system, which allows flexible adaptation of the application. The height adjustment of the inner carriage – which can carry transport boxes, for example – is handled by two synchronized Multilift lift columns. Also within the scope of workplace ergonomics are a specialized Pick-by-Light workstation for assembling small series and a research project by the Fraunhofer Institute focused on measuring workplace stresses. The goal is to design optimally ergonomic workplaces. Additionally, RK Rose+Krieger will present PowerDRIVE actuator drives from Lenord, Bauer & Co. GmbH from Oberhausen, which are used in automated format adjustment together with linear units from the Move-Tec sector.
