More new products, product expansions, and digital offerings than ever before: The "igus Motion Plastics Show 2021" opens its digital doors. Visitors can expect 168 innovations from all areas – from telescoping robot hose packages to dry-running ball bearings with 21 times longer lifespan to XXL-format 3D printing.

Since early May 2020, it has been located in a trade fair hall in Cologne Porz-Lind and was awarded the iF Design Award. Now, the igus Motion Plastics Show (imps) is opening in a new edition in 2021. "Although we are still in another year without trade shows," says igus Managing Director Frank Blase. "This time, however, we are starting with full digital momentum to showcase our new products." The new booth has been optimized based on experiences from virtual customer meetings and tours from the previous year. In a separate area, solutions for various industries are displayed: the space-saving and telescopic triflex TRX system for 3D energy guiding on robots, as well as the high-load bearing iglidur TX2 for construction machinery. And the topic of sustainability of plastics is now even more visible and occupies a central place at the fair.

Overall, 168 product innovations from all igus areas are presented at the 400-square-meter trade fair. Among them is the lightweight drygear Cobot gear unit kit for cost-effective automation, as well as the tribofilament iglidur I151 for FDA-compliant and detectable wear parts in food technology. 55,000 interested visitors from around the world have already visited the orange virtual booth online, as it is freely accessible as a virtual twin. An additional 16,000 visitors have taken advantage of the option to attend a digital visit together with igus specialists. "Normally, last year we would have been present at 222 trade fairs and congresses worldwide, but in total, it was only 26," says Frank Blase. "Therefore, we are all the more pleased that imps has now become a fixed part of daily communication with our customers." The real-virtual trade fair booth is an important component of a digital igus concept, enabling users to access maintenance-free and lubrication-free motion plastics tailored to their individual requirements even more quickly. Machine designs or tutorials can be virtually discussed with igus consultants; online seminars from the new webinar studio provide support, and the catalog is available as a digital interactive version, including additional information such as access to whitepapers, blog articles, and explainer videos.
