IC Medical introduces the next hygiene keyboard to the market

Fresh cell treatment for successful hygiene keyboard: Seven years after the first IC Keys, the successor model is now making its debut. IC Medical, the Württemberg-based hygiene specialist, has designed it to be equally stylish, stable, and above all, waterproof and dustproof. It can be cleaned and disinfected with just one wipe. This makes it perfectly compliant with the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute. New features include improved power supply and a material mix.

While the original IC Keys was a glass keyboard, the new IC Keys HT400 is made from a high-quality, durable plastic composite that is lighter in weight. It can also be quickly and safely disinfected with conventional alcohol-free cleaning and disinfectant agents. Also new is the integrated and long-lasting battery. It can be charged simultaneously during operation via a USB cable. Thanks to this innovation, the need for battery replacement has been eliminated, and energy consumption is reduced. IC Keys can be easily integrated into the practice or hospital network using common wireless technology Bluetooth or via USB. A computer mouse, which is typically a gateway for germs, becomes unnecessary thanks to the built-in touch-sensitive control panel, the touchpad. This also simplifies typing in environments with limited space.

Range of applications from specialist practices to research institutes

For hygienically sensitive areas, the Robert Koch Institute generally recommends devices with smooth, liquid-proof, and disinfectable surfaces. Accordingly, users benefit especially in environments where they come into contact with saliva, blood, and other fluids; as well as in settings where demanding hygiene standards must ensure work results: in doctor’s offices, hospitals, cleanrooms, and laboratories. Naturally, these environments require writing with medical gloves; this is also possible with IC Keys. To restore the familiar typing feel acoustically, users can be supported by the familiar clicking sounds, which can be adjusted in volume.
