Hovmand launches new hoists for its industrial lifts
Flexible solutions for safe material handling
A flexible system for forks and tines, a rotatable fork, and an adjustable crane arm system: Hovmand expands its range of hoisting devices for its mobile industrial lifts. The newly developed hoists increase the versatility of mobile lifting and transport solutions for efficient and safe material handling and provide greater flexibility.
With the help of forks, boxes can be lifted, transported, and stacked during the production process – even in the tightest spaces. The new Flex fork from Hovmand can be easily and conveniently adjusted by the customer during operation for different box widths thanks to an underlying slide construction. This allows not only standard-sized boxes but also wider or narrower boxes to be moved effortlessly. The new Flex double tine is used for handling rolls that can be lifted from below with this hoist. Here too, the customer can easily adjust the width to accommodate different roll sizes. Usually, an additional device is required to handle different box widths and roll sizes. These extra costs are eliminated for the customer through the variable adjustment options of the Flex fork and Flex double tine.
The rotatable fork – another new hoist for industrial lifts – is equipped with a manually operated rotation unit for tilting and tipping boxes. With this rotation unit, the tilt angle can be set to 30 or 90 degrees. This allows the boxes to be positioned optimally for work and emptied much more easily. Strenuous turning and bending of the upper body are thus avoided. Also new in Hovmand’s range is a flexibly configurable crane arm solution: equipped with an electric hoist and a traverse with straps for load pickup, it allows cumbersome and heavy bags or other components – for example made of metal – to be transported comfortably and ergonomically. The traverse stabilizes the material with at least two attachment points, preventing it from swinging back and forth.
All new hoists are suitable for both the stainless steel INOX series industrial lifts, designed for environments with special hygiene requirements, and the aluminum IMPACT series, for use in production, warehouse, and logistics environments.
Modular configuration options
Hovmand, the world’s leading manufacturer of mobile battery-powered industrial lifts, aims to make its hoists even more modular. This often eliminates time-consuming and costly customizations needed to meet specific customer challenges in material handling. “Thanks to our modular product design, we can offer a much larger number of lift configurations for work safety and health protection, tailored to individual requirements. Our customers thus receive more flexible and cost-effective solutions in series production,” says CEO Søren Hovmand.
Lift configuration with AR technology
When selecting tailored hoist solutions, Hovmand’s Virtual Engineering App supports the process. With its help, Hovmand’s sales team can assemble the suitable solution for the customer from over 100,000 configuration options on-site and display it live in 3D using augmented reality technology. This on-site selection and presentation allow decision-makers to get an impression of the industrial lift and its benefits for process optimization and work safety. The virtual representation of the lift in the environment can be saved as a photo and forwarded to the decision-makers involved. “This significantly simplifies and speeds up the planning and decision-making process for our customers,” reports Søren Hovmand.
