Highly durable, highly efficient: The new machine safety door EFA-SRT® MS Performance from EFAFLEX

"As a mobile separating safety device, the EFA-SRT® MS Performance is precisely tailored to the needs of industry," explains Lukas Meyer, Head of Product Management at EFAFLEX. On the one hand, the fast opening and closing speeds of up to 2.0 m/s allow for a consistent production process. On the other hand, the door achieves a new benchmark in durability within the industry: "With the EFA-SRT® MS Performance, up to one million load cycles can be performed annually," Meyer explains, "no other door with comparable features can match that." This effectively minimizes downtime and ensures smooth operational processes in the long term.

Additionally, the EFA-SRT® MS Performance is designed for an above-average lifespan of twelve years. There is a good reason for this performance: the typical, optimized construction of EFAFLEX combines thoughtful design with top-quality manufacturing and components.

Passage widths from 750 to 3,500 mm and overall opening heights from 750 to 3,500 mm are easily achievable, making the EFA-SRT® MS Performance a versatile choice for various application scenarios. With an optional frame extension, even an opening height of 4,000 mm is possible.

Optimization through Customization

Flexibility is the second major strength of the EFA-SRT® MS Performance, as Lukas Meyer knows: "The door can be configured very flexibly to meet specific needs and requirements. This also enables a wide range of individualization." The key innovation here is the newly developed frames made from aluminum extruded profiles. These allow accessories such as push buttons or supplied fence connections to be mounted continuously at the desired height. Up to four limit switches can be integrated into the frames upon request, with built-in cable ducts ensuring clarity and clean cable separation.

Another innovation is the drive, which is not only particularly powerful but also rotatable in 45-degree increments. This allows the EFA-SRT® MS Performance to be further adapted to its environment. Regarding the door fabric, the door offers options for individual configuration: available are a transparent version made of flexible PVC with colored warning stripes, as well as a version made of cross-stabilized fabric in various colors, with or without a viewing window.

Reliable Safety Functions

Machine safety doors are intended to protect machines and equipment, but above all, people. To ensure the highest safety for personnel at facilities and machines, the door is standardly equipped with a safety light grid or a safety light curtain. Additionally, the Head-Safe option is available. If one of these mechanisms detects people or obstacles in the closing plane, the door stops immediately. Furthermore, the transparent frame covers can be upgraded with an LED strip, enabling an additional signal light function.

Quality as a Safety Feature

Moreover, its robustness and product lifespan make the EFA-SRT® MS Performance a long-term safe solution in industrial and commercial sectors – after all, this reduces the likelihood of malfunctions and associated risks. The high reliability and functional safety are also demonstrated by full certification according to Performance Level "d". Additionally, the machine safety door is CE type-tested according to Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and certified by the testing laboratory ift Rosenheim.

Another advantage of the EFA-SRT® MS Performance is its extremely low maintenance requirement thanks to high-quality manufacturing. Additionally, the foldable cover and removable cable covers facilitate basic maintenance and service interventions if needed. The transparent frame covers allow for easy visual inspection. Clever details like these contribute further to the long-term reliable operation of the door.

Optional Self-Assembly

An additional benefit is that customers can assemble the door themselves. This is possible both for wall mounting and in the freestanding version. EFAFLEX supplies the door with assembly instructions and all necessary mounting materials. "With the EFA-SRT® MS Performance, we respond to specific customer requests and therefore also offer the option of self-assembly," Meyer explains.

EFAFLEX ensures that even during self-assembly, the highest standards regarding safety and functionality are maintained. Customers benefit in multiple ways: on the one hand, from lower acquisition costs due to independent assembly. On the other hand, the door can be put into operation much faster through self-assembly. Additionally, there is no need to dispatch a separate installation vehicle, which helps save CO2 emissions.
