Highly corrosion-resistant
Standard elements made of stainless steel A4
Using steel parts in aggressive environments requires excellent corrosion resistance. Ganter now offers standard elements in the higher-quality stainless steel grade A4 in an even wider range.
Enhanced resistance to aggressive environmental conditions is becoming an increasingly important requirement across various industries. As a result, corrosion-resistant stainless steel A4 is gaining importance because it is a reliable material for durability, maintenance-free operation, and thus investment security.
The Ganter range has always included numerous non-corrosive standard elements. However: Not all stainless steels are the same. Today, approximately 120 types with different alloy compositions are listed in relevant material compendiums. Historically, Ganter focused on using grades A1 and A2 because they are more economical to machine, but the market leader in standard elements now offers a whole range of products also in the more resistant A4 variant – specifically for use in aggressive environments.
In principle, almost every component category in the Ganter portfolio now includes a standard available in the A4 material grade. This includes handwheels, ball handles, ring screws, and nuts, which are manufactured according to or in accordance with DIN standards. Also included are various hinges, bracket handles, and grip strips, some of which can be attached by welding, star and triple-star handles, as well as single- and double-arm tension nuts, all part of the A4 range.
Finally, machine elements such as locking bolts, latch bars, and slotted or split adjusting rings complete the comprehensive program.
Above all, the chromium, nickel, and molybdenum components give the austenitic A4 steel its high resistance to chlorides and acids. This makes Ganter's A4 standard elements suitable not only for use in shipbuilding or offshore applications, in swimming pools with chlorinated or mineral-rich waters, but also wherever rigorous cleaning is required. A broad field indeed, which is why Ganter will further expand its range of A4 standard elements in the future.
