The countdown for the second Cleanzone in Frankfurt am Main is underway. On October 22 and 23, 2013, the international trade fair with congress offers numerous highlights, including many practical presentations, stimulating industry discussions, and the awarding of the Cleanroom Award.

The international Cleanzone Congress bridges scientific rigor, application-oriented expertise, and interdisciplinary exchange. A total of 15 high-quality lectures by renowned experts from the cleanroom industry and various user industries await the participants. One of the highlights is the keynote by C. Luis Vasquez on the second day of the congress. The founder and president of the Yantaló Peru Foundation will discuss his ambitious project in his lecture "Cleanroom: a real challenge for a diagnostic center in Yantalo, a rural community in the Peruvian Amazon".

Panel Discussion on Interdisciplinarity in Cleanroom Technology

In their panel discussion on the topic "Interdisciplinarity in Cleanroom Technology - Wish and Reality," Anke Geipel-Kern, deputy editor-in-chief of the trade magazine PharmaTEC, asks: What can different industries learn from each other? Is interdisciplinary knowledge transfer possible, for example from the semiconductor industry to the pharmaceutical sector? And: Is there even a willingness to adopt innovations from other application areas — or are the requirements ultimately not comparable? What are the most important changes to the newly enacted cleanroom standards, and what impact will they have on the industry? He will discuss this on October 23, 2013, at 12:00 PM together with experts from the cleanroom industry.

Exhibition and Presentation of the Cleanroom Award

For the second time, the Cleanroom Award will be presented in Frankfurt by the Cleanroom Academy Leipzig. The €3,000 prize recognizes groundbreaking innovations for the cleanroom industry in terms of functionality, efficiency, and sustainability. All submissions were evaluated and nominated in advance by a qualified expert jury. The five selected projects will be presented by the developers personally in lectures on the first day of the fair at the Cleanzone Plaza and on a dedicated exhibition area. Visitors to the trade fair and congress will not only have the opportunity to engage intensively with the new concepts and solutions but are also invited to choose their favorites. The winners of this public vote will be ceremoniously honored on October 23, 2013, at 12:30 PM. The five nominated entries for 2013 are:

Cleanzone - Trade Fair and Congress
For the second Cleanzone, Messe Frankfurt expects around 50 exhibitors from eight countries. The international trade fair is industry-spanning and targets all responsible parties from production who are already operating under clean conditions or plan to implement cleanroom technology in the future. It presents almost the entire range of offerings from planning and implementation to technology and systems, as well as training and consumables. The free action stage Cleanzone Plaza offers a program with practical industry knowledge from exhibitors and experts. Parallel to the trade fair, the international Cleanzone Congress takes place. This high-quality knowledge platform addresses current topics in the cleanroom industry and provides opportunities for industry- and country-wide exchange at a scientific level.

Times and Admission Prices
The Cleanzone will be held on October 22 and 23, 2013, in Hall 1.1 of the Frankfurt Exhibition Grounds, parallel to CPhI, the world's leading trade fair for pharmaceutical ingredients. The opening hours for the trade fair and congress are October 22 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and October 23 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Trade Fair Prices: Visitors who register online by October 18 will secure their free ticket, including the Cleanzone Night. At the ticket counter, the entrance fee is €25. For CPhI visitors, entry to Cleanzone is free.

Congress Prices: Participation in the Cleanzone Congress costs €600.00 (full pass) or €450.00 (day ticket). The congress ticket includes catering, participation in the evening event "Cleanzone Night" (October 22, 2013), and access to the trade fair.
