With the coats of the LC series, Gebr. Lödige Maschinenbau GmbH offers a highly efficient solution specifically for coating tasks in the pharmaceutical industry. Thanks to the well-designed process technology, the LC series coaters operate up to 40 percent faster than conventional devices. Now, Lödige is also increasing the pace on a small scale: The newly developed laboratory model LC Lab complements the series with a powerful component for small batches.

The new addition is modular and can thus be assembled according to specific requirements. A split drum allows for variable batch sizes. In addition, the machine features a functionally innovative, FDA-compliant housing material. The spray arm of the laboratory model has also been redesigned in collaboration with Düse-Schlick. As with the proven models of the LC series, the innovative concept allows for perfect adjustment of the spray position to the tablet bed. This results in optimal outcomes even during short process times.

Furthermore, the laboratory model has the same features that distinguish all models of the LC series: The applied air technology ensures a trouble-free and safe process. This is made possible by a fully perforated drum with a free area of over 40 percent, allowing for very high air throughput. Additionally, efficient mixing elements enable uniform and gentle mixing of tablets even at variable fill levels of 30 to 100 percent. This allows for achieving the very high coating uniformity demanded by the pharmaceutical industry. Besides spraying and mixing, the drying process is also designed for high efficiency: The drying air stream is directed specifically onto the tablet bed, ensuring rapid drying of the moist surfaces. Quality and efficiency go hand in hand with the LC coating series, which offers convenient loading, emptying, and maintenance. High-containment solutions are available as well as highly efficient cleaning systems. The entire series has been comprehensively designed in accordance with current GMP guidelines.

Depending on the application, Lödige offers additional coating solutions for various industries, alongside drum coaters. For complex applications, fluidized bed processors of the LFP series are available. For coating tasks in the food industry, Lödige Pflugschar® mixers provide an interesting and cost-effective alternative.
