High-tech where others go on vacation

Family businesses in the Bavarian Oberland – these are not only rural farms and guesthouses. Of course, there are many around Lake Kochel. Less obvious is that the company "DITTEL Engineering" is also based here, a business that has been dealing with high technology for 25 years. Since the company's relocation from Benediktbeuern at the beginning of 2018, 27 employees have been planning and designing so-called cleanrooms in the new, self-designed company campus in Schlehdorf. As a service provider around cleanroom technology, they help companies across Europe to research and produce with increasingly higher quality and purity.

In these extremely demanding work environments, the clients of the planning office manufacture today's and tomorrow's high-tech products: microchips for computers, decorative films for cars, components for satellites, medications for patients. Additionally, the engineering office ensures high hygiene standards in operating rooms, clinics, pharmacies, and laboratories. It is currently applying this experience to the development of mobile, modular, dismantlable hospitals that can quickly and cost-effectively provide aid in crisis areas.

Founded 25 years ago, the family-run company celebrated its anniversary in July. Founder Gernod Dittel and his son Florian Dittel, who jointly manage the company, invited relatives and companions – and showcased in a scientific accompanying program how the market and the company have grown and evolved over time. Initially, cleanrooms were used by only a few users; now, particulate and microbiological cleanliness ensures quality and safety in many businesses. Without them, precise research, production, or healing would not be possible; without them, many industries would see no progress.

Since cleanroom technology has become an indispensable part of modern manufacturing technologies, an increasing number of industries are seeking project expertise from the Bavarian Oberland when planning ultra-clean industrial and medical environments.
