Here's to a new beginning!
For the second time, Messe Stuttgart is awarding a scholarship for the VDWF continuing education program "Project Manager (FH) for Tool and Mold Making" at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences.
The Messe Stuttgart offers during the Moulding Expo from May 21 to 24, 2019, not only a comprehensive overview of training and study programs but also actively engages in further education for young professionals in tool, model, or mold making. Especially for this industry, structural change remains a constant challenge, which is why continuous training for technicians and engineers is mandatory. After all, it is necessary to meet the ever-increasing demands.
As with the second edition of the Moulding Expo, Messe Stuttgart is again awarding a scholarship this year for part-time further education in the project management (FH) program for tool and mold making. In the winter semester 2019/20, a student at Hochschule Schmalkalden can further their education for two semesters. The costs of around 5,000 euros will be covered by Messe Stuttgart.
"Our commitment to supporting young professionals and further education of specialists is a matter close to our hearts. We want to take responsibility for the industry," explains Florian Niethammer, Team Leader of the Moulding Expo. "The financial support from Messe Stuttgart should be seen less as sponsorship and more as a partnership!"
The first scholarship for this part-time further education program at Hochschule Schmalkalden was awarded in the winter semester 2017/18 to Thomas Brandt from Nordhausen. The 34-year-old, alongside his role as Technical Director at the family-owned injection molding and tool/mold making company "Igeno Fahrzeug- und Automatisierungstechnik GmbH," pursued further education to deepen his knowledge in toolmaking. He is enthusiastic about the university offering: "From purchasing and sales to marketing and labor law, to technical components, assembly, or plastics chemistry – all conceivable areas are covered in this continuing education course," says the mechatronics and automation engineering graduate. He finds it unique! Moreover, he benefits from the "soft factors" of his studies, maintaining contact with his fellow students to this day: "We meet at alumni events at the university or visit each other at our companies." Continuing education as a foundation for networking.
Those wishing to apply for the scholarship at Hochschule Schmalkalden must meet the following study prerequisites:
- University or BA studies and at least one year of professional experience in tool and mold making or a related field, or
- (Technical) Abitur and completed vocational training in a recognized profession with at least two years of practical experience in tool and mold making or a related field, or
