On April 1, 2022, Harro Höffiger takes over the operations of Widmann Maschinen GmbH & Co. KG in Schlierbach, continuing its growth trajectory. Widmann Maschinen, founded in 1946 in Esslingen, develops, builds, and maintains series and custom machines used for packaging food and cosmetics, in the automotive industry, and in medical technology. The family-owned company specializes in the manufacture of film processing and bag filling systems as well as ultrasonic welding of film materials. Harro Höffiger and Widmann Maschinen have had a close business relationship for over 20 years.

At the Schlierbach location, the manufacturer of production and packaging machines from Allmersbach im Tal is taking over all employees, relying on a well-coordinated team. "We are excited about the new production site and over 70 highly qualified, dedicated employees. We want to ensure a secure future for them locally," said Thomas Weller, CEO of Harro Höffiger. "In our main sectors of pharmaceuticals and medical technology, the global market is growing steadily by six to eight percent annually. This is also reflected in our consistently increasing order intake. Therefore, Schlierbach is a key part of our medium-term planning."

With the acquisition of Widmann, Harro Höffiger strengthens its market position as a supplier of complete production solutions in the special machinery segment and complements its expertise in ultrasonic welding. In Schlierbach, the rapidly growing area of Assembly Technologies receives a second manufacturing and assembly site. This area specializes in automated assembly systems, among other things, for the preliminary and final assembly of pharmaceutical and medical products. These include, for example, inhalers, auto-injectors, insulin pens, insulin pumps, and products for laboratory diagnostics.

The plant in Schlierbach increases the number of Harro Höffiger locations in Baden-Württemberg to five. In addition to Allmersbach im Tal, Backnang, and Aspach in the Rems-Murr district, the company is also present in Satteldorf near Crailsheim.
