Harro Höfliger participates as a shareholder in the start-up DiHeSys (Digital Health Systems GmbH). Together, the companies aim to shape the future of personalized medicine.

Harro Höfliger Packaging Machines GmbH is investing in the healthcare provider DiHeSys. Already in May of this year, the two companies announced a strategic alliance to develop medication printing for personalized therapy. The focus of this partnership is to enable the production of patient-specific thin films and tablets. With this participation, the partnership is also financially strengthened.

DiHeSys's vision is to deliver a complete system for the personalized 2D and 3D printing of medications. In addition to the printers themselves, this includes the development of active ingredient-containing inks and filaments, as well as software and services related to digital printing of personalized medicine. Furthermore, the company also considers aspects such as the provision of cartridges and data management. Harro Höfliger, as a technological partner, provides support around the construction of GMP-compliant printers.

“Entering into DiHeSys is a logical step for us because we are convinced of the potential of DiHeSys's concept,” explains Thomas Weller, CEO of Harro Höfliger. “We are also responding to the strong market response – initial studies with pharmaceutical printers are already underway. Even in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has accelerated digitalization in healthcare, we see this investment as very sustainable. DiHeSys is very active in areas such as data management and has the best prerequisites to establish itself as a technology leader in personalized medicine.”

Markus Dachtler, CEO of DiHeSys, also emphasizes that the partnership lays an important foundation for the future: “We have, among other things, pharmaceutical expertise necessary for formulation development.
