gwk: New cleanroom temperature control device up to ISO Class 5

The cleanroom production requires, in addition to special equipment prerequisites that prevent contamination of the atmosphere, very high reproducibility as well as precise temperature control within narrow tolerance limits.

The teco cr 1602 temperature control unit from gwk Gesellschaft Wärme Kältetechnik, Meinerzhagen, is a ready-to-connect 2-circuit heating and cooling device with indirect cooling, designed for operation with water as the circulating medium up to 160°C. It includes, in addition to the closed temperature control circuit, a stainless steel housing with fiber-free sound insulation and cleanroom-compatible casters. According to the manufacturer, this reliably keeps emissions and particle contamination well below the required limits. The teco cr 1602 is suitable for laboratory use < 60 dBA, with protection class IP 65, and for operation in cleanrooms according to EN ISO 14644 up to ISO Class 5.

Operation is described as extremely simple via a touchscreen with a colorful and multilingual 3.5-inch display, which integrates operation and service information including control indicators. The flow rate is measured, displayed, and monitored, and temperature setpoints and actual values can be visualized simultaneously. Temperature input and display are selectable with decimal places, and the monitor also features a temperature trend display. All common interfaces are available for integration with the control systems of processing machines. The standard equipment can be optionally expanded with useful options upon request.

Extensive monitoring and safety functions have been integrated for trouble-free operation, including short-circuit-proof controllers and control outputs, temperature sensors in the circulating medium's supply and return lines, a safety temperature limit against overheating, safety valves against overpressure, contactless heating control with semiconductor relays, and a safety temperature reduction when switching off. To avoid downtime in cleanroom production, the device is equipped with automatic filling and refilling systems.
