Groundbreaking for the new building of the Elis location in Landstuhl

Together with local politics, Elis kicks off the new construction in Landstuhl.

On March 19, 2026, the ceremonial groundbreaking for the new production facility took place at the Elis location in Landstuhl. About a year after the major fire in December 2024, a state-of-the-art laundry with a production area of 10,000 square meters is being built.

Following planned completion in the first quarter of 2027, the textile service provider in Landstuhl will be able to process 150,000 pieces of workwear, 200 tons of flat linen, and 250,000 pieces of resident laundry weekly for customers in the healthcare sector.

Due to the acquisition of the neighboring property, the total site area is approximately 25,844 square meters. Additionally, a photovoltaic system is planned on the roof of the new production building, which will sustainably cover part of the energy needs in the future.

The general contractor for the new building is GSE Germany, a long-standing international partner of the Elis Group. GSE is responsible for both the demolition of the fire-damaged building and the planning and turnkey construction of the new site.

During the construction phase, the customers of the Elis location in Landstuhl will continue to be reliably supplied via the Kaiserslautern site as well as additional locations within the Elis network.

"We are grateful for the close cooperation with local politics, which enables the rapid rebuilding," says Operations Director Christopher Beyer. "Elis Landstuhl will become one of the most modern production sites within the Elis Group in the future."

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended, among others, by local politicians Ralf Leßmeister and Peter Degenhardt, Mattia De Fazio, and Marcus Klein.

Overall, the Elis Group is investing a total of 35 million euros in Landstuhl.
