GREENTECH FESTIVAL relies on solutions from MANN+HUMMEL

Virus-free air with air purifiers and air filters from MANN+HUMMEL.

What do trade fairs and congresses, festivals, and large-scale events across Germany have in common? All of them either did not take place, were severely restricted, or occurred exclusively digitally last year due to the pandemic. The step back to event normality with in-person visitors, exhibitors, and an extensive lecture program is being taken from June 16 to 18 by the GREENTECH FESTIVAL in Berlin. Included: antiviral air purifiers from MANN+HUMMEL. The devices are a fixed part of the official hygiene and safety concept of the event and were given special consideration during the approval process by the Berlin authorities.

"Not just to exhibit, but to enable the safe conduct of the event at all with our technologies, is also not on our daily agenda. We look forward to a special event experience in a safe environment!" says Jan-Eric Raschke, Director Air Solution Systems at MANN+HUMMEL. The Ludwigsburg filtration specialist provides a total of over 50 antiviral air purifiers, which are distributed across the 3,500-square-meter exhibition area in Kraftwerk and the Heeresbäckerei in Berlin.

The devices clean the air five to six times per hour. Thanks to their HEPA H14 filters certified according to ISO 29463 and EN1822, they are capable of safely filtering out more than 99.995 percent of viruses and their mutations, bacteria, and microorganisms from the ambient air. The aerosol concentration in the exhibition area remains consistently low as a result.

This makes our sustainability event one of the first events to take place online and with visitors in Berlin," says Marco Voigt, co-founder of the GREENTECH FESTIVAL. "This is made possible by our comprehensive safety and hygiene concept and over 50 antiviral air purifiers from MANN+HUMMEL. With this, we demonstrate on behalf of an entire industry that, through maximum health protection, events with audiences can be carried out."

Economic Senator Ramona Pop (Alliance 90/The Greens) hopes that the four Berlin pilot projects will now serve as the beginning of a normalization of the situation: "Falling incidence rates and rising vaccination rates allow us to take further steps towards reopening. With the Berlin pilot events, we show how events and conferences can be implemented more safely and in compliance with pandemic measures using digital possibilities."

Solutions for organizers and venues

It will certainly take some time before trade fairs, congresses, and (large) events can take place again in the usual scope and framework. However, low incidence values, distancing rules, access restrictions, mask and testing requirements are certainly fixed components for the official approval of events.

"The prominent reference to virus-free filtered air can expand the catalog of measures against the pandemic with a publicly effective and impactful component," says MANN+HUMMEL expert Raschke. "In addition to our mobile devices, we also offer solutions for upgrading permanently installed ventilation systems to HEPA level. They can be made 'Corona-proof' with just a few steps. The filtration solutions are also extremely useful after Corona. They reliably filter influenza viruses and airborne allergens from the air, for example!"

The solutions at a glance

Depending on the room size, MANN+HUMMEL offers three mobile air purification systems that deliver healthier, virus-free air in virtually any interior: the OurAir SQ 500 (for rooms up to 40 square meters), the OurAir TK 850 (for rooms up to 70 square meters), and the OurAir SQ 2500 (for rooms up to 200 square meters). For particularly large rooms, multiple devices can be modularly arranged. This is how the facilities of the GREENTECH FESTIVAL are also equipped. Following the "Plug-and-Play" principle, the devices ensure healthier air.

Each model in the series is equipped with an H14 HEPA filter that captures more than 99.995 percent of viruses, bacteria, and other microorganisms from the air. These filters are tested individually to ensure maximum safety.

Alternatively, HEPA filters are available for central ventilation systems (HVAC). The Nanoclass Cube Pro membrane filter enables energy-efficient recirculation operation of the system and ensures cleanroom-quality supply air.
