Greater Prize of the Mittelstand 2020 for SCHILLING ENGINEERING

For 22 years, Schilling Engineering GmbH has been building modular cleanroom systems for over 20 industries, such as pharmaceuticals, medical technology, microtechnology, or aerospace. The Baden-Württemberg mid-sized company from Wutöschingen specializes particularly in the conception and manufacturing according to customer specifications. With its self-developed, high-quality cleanroom technology, the company has experienced continuous growth and now employs 70 staff members and 9 trainees.

Now, Schilling Engineering has been honored as a prizewinner in 2020 by the Oskar-Patzelt Foundation at the "Great Prize of the Mittelstand" competition. The Great Prize of the Mittelstand has been regarded for years as Germany's most important and prestigious business award, with 4,970 companies nominated nationwide in 2020. The award has been given since 1994 to outstanding mid-sized companies that are not only economically successful but also distinguished by innovations, the creation and safeguarding of jobs, an exemplary corporate climate, environmental awareness, as well as social and societal engagement.

Fourteen companies from all over Germany, including three from Baden-Württemberg, were awarded as winners based on these criteria. For the family-run company Schilling Engineering, winning the competition is a very special recognition that underscores the innovative strength and economic importance of the mid-sized sector.

At a festive gala at the Würzburg Hotel Maritim, Managing Director Günther Schilling proudly received the winner's statue. "We are very excited. This award is a wonderful recognition of our work and our company," says Günther Schilling. "We would like to sincerely thank everyone who nominated us for this esteemed competition. A very special thanks goes to all employees; without you, we would not have received the 'Great Prize'."
