Getinge introduces a new version of the Solsus 66 to meet the efficiency requirements in AEMP

Getinge presents a new version of the proven Solsus 66 Steam Sterilizer – originally introduced in 2020 – developed to meet the evolving requirements of Medical Device Reprocessing Units (MDRUs).

Sterile reprocessing is an essential prerequisite for safe and efficient healthcare. Hospitals are under increasing pressure to ensure high-quality care while optimizing costs and space requirements. The Getinge Solsus 66 supports MDRUs in meeting these demands. Based on robust technology with over 20 years of experience, it has become a reliable partner in sterilization processing. The new version maintains its proven performance while offering new features that enhance user comfort and operational efficiency, and at the same time reduce environmental impact.

"Sterilizers are the backbone of sterilization processing. With the Solsus 66, we continue to support healthcare facilities in providing safe and cost-effective care," says Stéphane Le Roy, President of Surgical Workflows at Getinge. "The new version builds on our customers' trust – and offers even more added value."

A common customer request was greater flexibility in steam generation. The updated Solsus 66 now offers configuration options that allow hospitals to adapt the sterilizer to their specific infrastructure and workflows. A new combined steam option enables operation with either central steam generation or switching to the integrated electric steam generator – two steam generation sources in one device.

Innovations in the Solsus 66 include the award-winning, intuitive Centric control system and the reservoir tank option, which prevents backflow according to EN 1717. Additionally, the proven ECO water-saving system is standardly integrated, significantly reducing media consumption.

"Sterile departments today need to achieve more with less – and do so safely," adds Karolina Olofsson, Product Manager Steam Sterilization at Getinge. "The Solsus 66 combines high capacity with a compact footprint, ergonomic design, and reliable sterilization cycles. An intelligent solution for the requirements of modern MDRUs."

The Solsus 66 is available in Europe and other markets where CE-marked medical devices can be sold, remaining a safe and future-proof choice for hospitals seeking to optimize their sterilization processes.
