From October 21 to 25, the leading international trade fair EuroBLECH opens its doors in Hanover. Together with its partner, Thomas Grebe GmbH, MEZ-TECHNIK GmbH presents air system products again in Hall 13 at Stand F23. Manufacturers of air ducts from around the world are offered a comprehensive range of modern air duct manufacturing, and at the joint stand of the two companies, the most important innovations in machines, manufacturing, and software products are demonstrated in action.

To consistently expand its role as a worldwide leading specialist and innovation leader in the field of manufacturing, assembly, and service of air guiding systems, MEZ-TECHNIK GmbH has entered into various strategic partnerships in recent years, alongside measures such as founding a French subsidiary in Lyon, or expanding existing collaborations in the area of air duct manufacturing.

Thus, MEZ-TECHNIK GmbH is already presenting its fourth EuroBLECH together with its long-standing partner Thomas Grebe GmbH. As a leading provider and specialist in air duct software and the sale of air duct and plasma machines, customers particularly appreciate the holistic view of the air duct manufacturing processes of both partners. For example, the air duct ordering system "eClimax" and the production and billing software "winClimax" from Thomas Grebe GmbH are extremely useful and time-saving companions for efficiently processing orders in air duct manufacturing.

Clinching for the Leak Tightness Class D

Since the end of last year, the Swiss company Attexor, part of the Böllhoff Group, has been building on a partnership with MEZ-TECHNIK GmbH for marketing a clinch system specially adapted for air duct construction, based on their long experience in sheet metal processing and air duct manufacturing. Visitors to the stands of MEZ-TECHNIK and Böllhoff/Attexor can experience the many advantages of this fully pneumatic clamping press firsthand during live demonstrations or in self-experiment. The machine, now marketed under the name MEZ-RIVCLINCH and proven in Switzerland for many years, type IP 0404, impresses primarily with its speed and flexible application possibilities. Notable features include an extremely high speed, with about one rectangular, airtight clinch point per second (TÜV-certified according to DIN EN 1507:2006 up to leak tightness class D), as well as clinching in just one stroke with 35 kN at 5-6 bar. The unique, flexible die concept also ensures that the same tool can be used for most sheets and material thicknesses in air duct manufacturing. Only for thicker materials or harder substances, such as stainless steel, is fine-tuning of the machine with an Allen wrench necessary.

Automatic Fold Seal for Air Ducts & Components with MEZ-BLUEMASTIC-GEL

An additional strategic basis for MEZ-TECHNIK GmbH is the collaboration with RAS Reinhardt Maschinenbau from Sindelfingen, in the further development of their machines for air duct construction, the RAS DuctZipper and RAS SpeedySeamer. The sealing compound MEZ-BLUEMASTIC-GEL, used in this new manufacturing process and proven for over 30 years (certified according to VDI 6022, temperature resistant up to 120°C, drip point at 185°C), plays a key role. Over the past year, its use has proven successful in the fold-closing machine DuctZipper, where it is injected directly into the longitudinal fold with the retrofittable RAS device "SealJet," contributing to achieving the highest leak tightness classes of air guiding systems without additional effort. This production method can reduce costs by up to 90% when sealing longitudinal folds of air ducts.

As a trade fair novelty and a logical consequence, RAS now presents the SpeedySeamer with SealJet device for the production of snap folds in air ducts at the RAS stand in Hall 11, Stand B64. The advantages here include significant cost savings due to reduced labor, excellent hygienic properties of the sealant itself, and the end product, thanks to the now invisible fold sealing.

In traditional fold sealing, approximately €0.20 per meter of fold is spent with a simple acrylic sealant, whereas sealing with MEZ-BLUEMASTIC-GEL in the DuctZipper costs about €0.02 per meter and in the SpeedySeamer only about €0.05 per meter, all without additional personnel effort!

The proven MEZ-BLUEMASTIC-GEL has been used for many years, for example, as a sealing compound in the air duct profile MEZ-SYPHON-FLANGE, thus forming a continuous system for manufacturing ventilation ducts with the highest requirements for tightness (EN 1507) and hygiene (VDI 6022), together with the new fold sealing process.

Simply Remove Zinc with MEZ-GALV-OFF

A versatile product for all areas of sheet metal processing is the new MEZ-GALV-OFF, now manufactured in Europe. The zinc remover with cleaning effect can be applied to various metallic surfaces of sheet metal processing machines and tools. It enables longer service life and maintains good technical condition of regularly maintained machines, thereby contributing to high manufacturing quality, especially in the production of air duct folds.

VDI 6022 – Clean from Production and Disinfected After Assembly

In connection with the requirements of the hygiene guideline VDI 6022 for ventilation systems, MEZ-TECHNIK GmbH has launched the cleaning and disinfection systems MEZ-CLEANER and MEZ-DISINFECTION TABS. These almost indispensable products for cleaning air ducts after manufacturing and disinfecting after assembly on-site are, among other things, biodegradable. The supplied spray head allows the cleaning fluid to be applied sparingly and evenly to the inside of the air duct. The MEZ-DISINFECTION TABS are used to prepare a disinfectant solution.

The Spray Adhesive for Air Duct Insulation and Equipment Construction

The family of technical sprays at MEZ-TECHNIK has grown further. The spray adhesive MEZ-GLUE, specially designed for metal surfaces, is particularly versatile, economical, and easy to use. It develops its enormous bonding strength shortly after application and can be used on both absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces, as well as on a variety of materials (mineral wool, cardboard, rubber, etc.). MEZ-GLUE is thus ideal for equipment and appliance construction as well as for insulating air ducts and ventilation pipes with various insulation materials. Its applications are essentially unlimited. The adjustable spray head ensures always appropriate and economical dosing. Quick and Easy Zinc Layer Testing

Of great interest to the sheet metal industry is the MEZ-ZINK-TESTER. This handy device allows for comfortable and rapid measurement of zinc coating thickness on steel, iron, and non-ferrous metals. The device automatically selects the appropriate measurement method for the base material. The MEZ-ZINK-TESTER stands out mainly due to its lightweight and intuitive operation. Thanks to the two LCD displays, reading the measured values is easy even in difficult device positions. Up to 70 measurements can be made per minute, and the built-in memory can store up to 10,000 measurement values. Connection to a computer is via USB cable. The collected data can then be easily evaluated with the included, license-free software using Excel. The compact size, robust and durable design, and light weight make the MEZ-ZINK-TESTER an ideal companion for use in manufacturing or on-site. With the included software, certificates and test reports can also be created in your own layout and attached to your sheet metal product or workpiece during shipping.
