Future-oriented component cleaning at the focus of parts2clean 2018

- Almost all market leaders have already registered
- Component cleaning is a quality factor and value creation

Whether manufacturing processes such as bonding, welding, sealing, and coating or the function of the end product – quality largely depends on sufficient cleanliness of the components. Reliable removal of particulate and filmic contaminants is therefore an essential part of stable and quality-oriented production. It should be ensured throughout the entire production and supply chain. The cleanliness requirements to be met are defined by the demands of the subsequent process. Furthermore, it is foreseeable that global trends such as electromobility, autonomous driving, lightweight construction, miniaturization, and Industry 4.0 will also impose new and higher requirements on industrial part and surface cleaning.

“These future-oriented topics, alongside current requirements such as increased energy and resource efficiency of the cleaning process, will be a focus of the exhibiting companies at the upcoming parts2clean,” says Olaf Daebler, Global Director of parts2clean at Deutsche Messe AG. The 16th international flagship trade fair for industrial parts and surface cleaning will be held from October 23 to 25, 2018, at the Stuttgart exhibition grounds. “We are pleased that, already about six months before the start of the fair, almost all market and technology leaders from the various exhibition segments have booked their stand space,” Daebler states. “This allows visitors from various industries such as automotive and supplier industry, medical technology, mechanical engineering, aerospace, fine and micromechanics, optics, electronics, semiconductor industry, and coating technology to find suppliers, products, and services that can help them solve their individual tasks in a stable and cost-effective manner.”

Meeting diverse requirements reliably and efficiently

On the one hand, it involves higher demands on particulate cleanliness, which result among other things from increasingly smaller and more complex components and higher-performance parts. On the other hand, filmic residues, stains, discolorations, and depending on the industry, biological and ionic contaminations are becoming more and more central to cleanliness concerns. Due to these changes, wet-chemical fine and ultrafine cleaning will gain importance. This increases the need for measurement technology to monitor cleaning processes, control cleanliness, and ensure comprehensive recording and documentation of process parameters. Another aspect is solutions for efficient water treatment and bath maintenance. The relevance of alternative cleaning methods such as CO2 snow blasting, plasma, and laser cleaning will also grow. These technologies enable targeted, dry cleaning of functional surfaces and component areas, for example before coating, bonding, sealing, laser welding, or assembly, as well as for pre-assembled parts. An additional advantage of these methods is their ease of automation and the possibility to integrate them into networked manufacturing environments. Furthermore, in significantly more cleaning tasks, a cleanliness-optimized, controlled manufacturing environment will play a more important role in meeting requirements. For these and all other challenges in industrial cleaning technology, the exhibitors at the upcoming parts2clean will present solutions.

Technical forum and guided tours in two languages

“With the three-day technical forum, parts2clean offers national and international visitors valuable insights into trends and innovations in cleaning technology,” reports Daebler. The simultaneously translated presentations (German <> English) cover topics and experiences from all areas of industrial parts and surface cleaning.

The guided tours, conducted in German and English on the three trade fair days, enable industry visitors to learn about specific topics in component and surface cleaning at selected exhibition stands along the process chain. Participating exhibitors can showcase their products and innovations precisely to an interested professional audience directly at their stand, thereby generating additional contacts.
