On April 3, 2019, the Kunststoff-Zentrum in Leipzig (KUZ) will host the second Micro Injection Molding Forum. Under the motto “From the Idea to the Actual Part,” the conference offers a comprehensive overview of possibilities for micro plastic part manufacturing.

Lectures

Product development, toolmaking, injection molding processing, and tests tailored to specific requirements will be discussed. In eight technical presentations, the requirements for part design with adjusted molding-to-injection ratio, the selection of suitable machine technology, and the necessary production environment for manufacturing will be explored. Experienced speakers from Gerresheimer, Ersa, Viaoptic, Dick & Dick, ETA SA, and KUZ will provide insights into their micro-part manufacturing processes and concretely demonstrate the path from idea to finished part.

Workshops

Two workshops will illustrate the challenges. First, the production of interesting sample parts will be demonstrated live on machinery at the Micro Plastics Technologies Application Center (MiKA) at KUZ. In another workshop, representatives from Keyence and Werth will present suitable inspection methods for evaluating micro contours and for inspecting the interior of micro plastic parts.

The Micro Injection Molding Forum accompanies participants throughout the entire product development cycle and conveys important aspects of the manufacturing process, as small dimensions require the highest precision in micro part manufacturing. This event provides an open platform for intensive exchange with industry experts.
