Friedrich Sailer GmbH wins Cleanzone Award 2019
With an innovative assembly solution for cleanrooms, the Hygienic Design Magnet, Friedrich Sailer GmbH was able to convince the industry audience at Cleanzone in Frankfurt on November 19 & 20, 2019, and was awarded the Cleanzone Award 2019 from a group of 8 nominated companies.
The Hygienic Design Magnet is an innovative solution that significantly simplifies the installation of all kinds of fixtures while ensuring that everything is done to maintain process safety in cleanrooms and food production facilities through an intact room envelope. The need to drill into cleanroom walls and panels and the associated risks are thus a thing of the past.
The Cleanzone Award recognizes outstanding innovations that send crucial impulses for the future of cleanroom technology. The award promotes innovation activity in an industry that, as a pioneer of dynamic high-tech industries, must continually offer new solutions. The award has been presented since 2012 and is considered an important driver of innovation in the industry.
The family-run Neu-Ulm company, which will soon celebrate its 95th anniversary, sees the award as an incentive to continue actively working in a future-oriented industry with high quality and innovation standards.
Awarded Product Innovation: Hygienic Design Magnet
The very first presentation was a complete success: presented as a new product at Cleanzone 2019 in Frankfurt, Friedrich Sailer GmbH was able to impress the industry audience with its magnetic mounting solution for cleanrooms and food production facilities and was awarded the Cleanzone Award 2019 directly.
Inspired by a customer’s desire to avoid damaging their new cleanroom walls, Friedrich Sailer GmbH developed the Hygienic Design Magnet as a surface-protecting fastening solution for various fixtures. The innovative company takes advantage of the fact that cleanroom walls and panels used in food production are usually magnetic.
Previous fastening methods such as gluing or drilling were either not durable or led to damage to the wall and its coating, negatively affecting pressure conditions and particle emissions, and in the worst case, causing corrosion traces on walls in connection with disinfectants.
The Hygienic Design Magnet now ensures the integrity of cleanroom and panel walls, protects surfaces, and significantly speeds up the assembly process. The assembly with the Hygienic Design Magnet can be reversed at any time without leaving traces, allowing for quick and straightforward changes in mounting positions. Disassembly for complete wall cleaning and disinfection is also simple. Thanks to the elimination of drilling holes, repair work and covers are also unnecessary.
On standard cleanroom walls and panels, a single magnet has a load capacity of approximately 10 kg due to its powerful internal magnetic system. By combining multiple magnets, correspondingly higher load capacities can be achieved. The central mounting internal thread replaces the wall attachment usually made by drilling.
The magnets are compatible with almost any type of wall-mounted fixture, regardless of manufacturer.
In accordance with Hygienic Design guidelines, the housing of the Hygienic Design Magnet is made of stainless steel 1.4305 and features a particularly low surface roughness of Ra < 0.8 to ensure easy cleaning. The wall-side sealing cap is made of FDA-compliant silicone and provides a seal for the mounting surface through the clamping forces between magnet and wall. The chamfered edge of the silicone cap, with a large open angle, ensures an easy-to-clean outer contour of the magnet. Additionally, the silicone surface protects the wall coating from damage and scratches during mounting and disassembly. All of this makes the Hygienic Design Magnet an optimal and efficiently applicable mounting solution for all cleanrooms, GMP areas, and food production facilities.
