Fraunhofer IPA verleiht „CLEAN!“-Preis während der parts2clean

Just before the start of parts2clean 2015, the excitement is building again: The international leading trade fair for industrial parts and surface cleaning will, for the first time this year, be the venue for the presentation of the Fraunhofer Cleanliness Technology Award "CLEAN!". For the third time, the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation (IPA) will honor groundbreaking new applications and technologies in cleanliness technology with this award. The award ceremony will take place on the second day of the fair, Wednesday, June 10, from 2 p.m., in the parts2clean specialist forum, Hall 6/B46.

"parts2clean, as the leading trade fair for industrial parts cleaning, is a unique platform for companies and professionals from all over Europe and thus an excellent location for the presentation of the cleanliness technology award 'CLEAN!'", says Dr. Udo Gommel, Head of the Reinst- and Microproduction Department at Fraunhofer IPA. "The environment there provides the ideal setting for showcasing the winners." Cleanliness technology manufacturing is considered a key technology that drives important innovations across industries. Outstanding ideas, such as those recognized by the "CLEAN!" award, enable completely new products and make production processes more economical. Examples include the manufacturing of microchips, flat screens, implants, pharmaceutical active ingredients, or micro- and nanoproducts, which would be unthinkable without a clean, pure, or ultra-pure production environment.

The "CLEAN!" award, previously focused on the German-speaking region, has been expanded by Fraunhofer IPA to the European market for the first time this year. The application deadline was May 19, 2015. Since then, an independent expert jury has reviewed all submissions and selected two applicants for the top positions. Criteria for evaluation and awarding include the degree of innovation, sustainability, the role as a key technology for new applications, and industrial feasibility. During the award ceremony on the trade fair Wednesday, the two top winners will present their contributions to the audience and will then be honored.
