Fraunhofer IPA certifies cutting edge for cleanroom conveyor belts from Montech

Montech AG brings its proven knife edge into the cleanroom: The product meets the requirements of ISO 5 cleanroom class and has been tested and certified by the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation IPA.

In cleanroom environments, especially high demands are placed on particle emissions and process stability. At the same time, transfer points are a critical area – particularly with small or sensitive parts. Gaps between sections can lead to disruptions, jamming, or interruptions, thereby compromising process safety.

Certified solution for critical transfer points in the cleanroom

The knife edge from Montech is now qualified for use in controlled production environments. Its cleanroom suitability, confirmed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation IPA, ensures that defined limits for particle emissions are maintained. At the same time, the knife edge impresses with its structural properties: it provides a minimal gap between two conveyor sections. This minimizes gaps and allows small transfer goods to be safely transferred from one system to the next. This increases process stability and significantly reduces the risk of production stoppages. Fraunhofer TESTED DEVICE® certificate

The knife edge from Montech has been tested under cleanroom conditions according to ISO 14644-1; -14 by the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation IPA and awarded the TESTED DEVICE® certificate. The certification confirms that both the conveyor belt TB30R-140×1500/MR 571854 with central drive and the conveyor belt TB40R-400×1500-VR 571673 meet the particle emission requirements for use in cleanrooms up to ISO 5 class.
