FRAMOS offers the highest product quality with sensor and semiconductor storage according to DIN EN ISO 14644 Cleanroom Class 5

Cleanroom and purification rooms are primarily needed in the semiconductor industry to regulate the (dust) particles present in normal ambient air, which would otherwise disturb the processing and thereby the quality and purity of integrated circuits. The camera sensor distributor and camera component specialist FRAMOS ensures, with a modernized cleanroom warehouse at its Munich company headquarters, that sensor customers are supplied with consistently high quality even in the case of repackaging of goods.

Customers in research and development, or camera manufacturers in the series testing phase, usually initially require only small quantities of image sensors. To avoid being bound by the often very high minimum order quantities (MOQ) of large manufacturers such as Sony or OnSemi, FRAMOS is able to negotiate with its customers for smaller minimum order quantities through its own inventory, allowing for precisely packed shipments during the design-in phase and tailored to the customer's desired order quantity. Dust articles are limited according to DIN EN ISO 14644 Class 5, achieving a consistent air purity of less than 1000 particles with 1µm/m³. This protects the sensitive glass surface of the image sensors and the connection pins from contamination by dust and subsequent damage during the soldering process.

The investment in the DIN-certified cleanroom warehouse is another step for FRAMOS in its professional quality and process management. Benedikt Schemmel, Quality Management Officer at FRAMOS, explains: "Especially for sensors that are delivered without protective film as standard, as well as for all other items, we ensure with the cleanroom warehouse that the goods arrive at the customer in the best quality and are ready for immediate use. The FRAMOS warehouse is already ESD-compliant: ESD-conformant clothing, conductive shelves and floors, and special packaging regulations for dissipative packaging reduce electrostatic buildup. Humidity and temperature control, as well as ionization fans, remove charged dust particles from the air and ensure consistent environmental conditions. With further reduction of dust particles and the cleanroom certification, we improve the quality of our products and guarantee even better results during the regularly conducted customer and supplier audits." The FRAMOS warehouse in Munich is monitored and certified, among others, by the semiconductor manufacturer Sony.
