FoodPex India supplements International PackTech India and drink technology India from 2016 onwards – Exhibitor registrations now open
India: Topics Food Processing and Food Packaging with own platform
To accommodate the developments in the Indian beverage and food market, the offerings of International PackTech India and drink technology India are being expanded: The newly developed event FoodPex India focuses on Processing and Packaging of all kinds of solid foods. In the future, the newly formed trade fair trio will cover the areas of Packaging and related processes, Beverage Technology and Liquid Food, as well as Food Processing and Packaging under one roof. The unique trade fair offering in this constellation further increases the attractiveness of the event and sends a strong signal to the Indian beverage and food market. Previously, PackTech India and drink technology India were already considered the most important platforms for the industries in India.
“The Indian market shows a clear interest in Food Processing and Food Packaging topics. Therefore, we and also Messe München already presented corresponding products and solutions within the two fairs in 2014. Giving these offerings a dedicated platform with the FoodPex brand, which we have already introduced in China, is a logical step,” comments Bernd Jablonowski, Global Portfolio Director Packaging and Processing at Messe Düsseldorf, the organizer of International PackTech India as well as the new FoodPex India.
“Visitors of the trade fair trio benefit from the new structure through a clearer organization and a unique range of offerings on the Indian subcontinent. Our unmatched expertise in the processing and filling of beverages and liquid foods is thus thematically perfectly complemented,” explains Petra Westphal, Project Group Leader at Messe München GmbH, organizer of drink technology India.
Growth Market India
India is a dynamic market with great potential in the field of Packaging and related processes, especially regarding packaged foods and beverages. Although the per capita consumption is still relatively low, according to figures from the market research institute Euromonitor, demand for processed and packaged foods is expected to increase by about 31 percent by 2019. The sales of soft drinks are even expected to more than double in the same period. In the dairy sector, India is already the number one worldwide, and the market for liquid dairy products is also developing very dynamically. The drivers of this development are societal change and significant economic growth. The growing middle class consequently increases demand for hygienically processed and packaged foods and beverages. This puts pressure on local producers to invest in high-quality processing and packaging or filling technology to compete with imported goods.
High Visitor Satisfaction
The organizers expect around 250 exhibitors (2014: 230) for the trade fair trio. They will have approximately 14,000 square meters of exhibition space available. The last edition, held last year, set a new record with a visitor increase of 37 percent to over 10,000 visitors. More than 90 percent of the professionals – significantly more than two-thirds of whom are entrepreneurs or members of top management – rated the International PackTech India and drink technology India highly for 2014. The broad range of offerings and the presence of market leaders received particularly positive feedback. The trade fair duo thus confirmed its reputation as a business platform offering tailored solutions for the Indian market in its third edition. A renewed increase in visitors is expected for 2016.
The documents for exhibitor registrations for the three trade fairs, which will be held concurrently from December 15 to 17, 2016, at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, are now available at www.drinktechnology-india.com, www.packtech-india.com, and www.foodpex-india.com.
