Flexibility expanded

The modular multi-channel multiCELL Transmitter/Controller 8619 is an individually adaptable measurement system with an extended range of functions, which can be used with various types of sensors. The fluid technology specialist Bürkert expands its offering of the previously only panel-mounted 8619 with a new, separate housing variant that can be flexibly mounted, e.g., on walls, railings, or pipelines. This new version can operate in addition to 12…36 V DC in an alternative version with 110 / 230 V AC.

With the multiCELL Transmitter/Controller Type 8619, Bürkert offers a complete, flexible measurement system for connecting various sensors for different tasks in data acquisition, control, and dosing. The device is ideally suited for a wide range of applications in areas such as water treatment or the production of food and pharmaceuticals. The system consists of a fully equipped base unit, whose functionality can be individually and needs-based expanded and adapted through hardware cards such as pH / ORP, conductivity, signal input and output cards, and software modules. The multiCELL Type 8619 is now available in addition to the panel version also in a separate housing variant, allowing users great freedom to choose the installation location of the 8619, e.g., on walls, pipelines, or railings.

Robust housing without external metal components

The new housing variant is protected according to IP65 / IP67 or NEMA 4x and has no external metal parts. As a result, the housing is not only excellent for water treatment, F&B, or pharmaceutical sectors but also particularly suitable for aggressive environments, such as in the electroplating industry.

Mounting on wall, pipeline, or railing

Thanks to a special mounting plate, the system can be easily attached to walls and, with the help of a mounting kit, to pipelines or railings. A special locking and holding mechanism allows the user to quickly attach the housing to the mounting plate and release it if necessary.

User-friendly electrical installation

To support customers during electrical installation, all terminal blocks and connections are easily and quickly accessible from the front side. Power and signal cables can be routed and secured through up to five M20 cable glands. Sufficient space inside the housing ensures comfortable installation of the connection cables.

Flexible power supply for greater field freedom

To meet customer needs and infrastructure, the new version can operate with either 12…36 V DC or, in an alternative version, with 110 / 230 V AC. If needed, sensors, even in the 110 / 230 V AC version, can be directly supplied with 24 V DC from the multiCELL.

The multiCELL, available in panel or separate housing versions, can be equipped with up to six different I/O boards as needed, making it capable of handling complex tasks.

This is further enhanced by up to six parallel functions that can be freely selected from a list of functions, independently of each other. Frequently used functions are already integrated, only need to be selected, and are fully available after configuration. The full flexible functionality of the 8619 is completed by assigning the function modules to the input and output signals.

Additionally, optional software packages enable further practical customization for specific applications. Users benefit from this tailored functionality, as costs are only incurred for features actually needed. With multiCELL, a uniform device is available for many different applications, from analytical measurement technology to flow measurement. This minimizes the effort required for staff training, inventory management, and maintenance of different device types and variants.
