Flame retardancy in polyurethane processing

On May 5, 2021, the expert conference "PUR Forum" organized by the Kunststoff-Zentrum in Leipzig (KUZ) will take place, held online due to COVID-19. This year's conference is themed "Flame Retardancy in PUR Processing".

Polyurethanes, like all organic materials, are flammable. There are fire risks both during manufacturing and use. For specific applications, polyurethanes can be made flame-retardant, which is essential for many fields of application.

The annual expert conference "PUR Forum" in Leipzig addresses this important topic and is regarded as an established meeting point for the polyurethane industry.

In eight presentations, speakers from renowned companies will discuss flame retardant requirements and concepts. Starting from the increasing fire protection requirements, the discussion will cover the comprehensiveness of influencing the combustion behavior. Various flame retardants and their mechanisms of action will be presented, along with the challenges in processing. Concrete user reports will showcase practical solutions. This makes the challenges and potentials of new concepts tangible.
