Dealing with dirt is not something people enjoy. However, it cannot be avoided in manufacturing or reprocessing. Clean components are the foundation of high-quality products. With an attractive program that includes cross-technology initial consulting as well as an interesting lecture and discussion program, the Industrial Parts Cleaning Association (FiT) e. V. offers extensive support for efficient and sustainable compliance with cleanliness requirements at this year's parts2clean (Hall 4, Stand B01/C01). Additionally, the FiT2clean Award, endowed with 10,000 euros, will be awarded for the first time.

Compared to other manufacturing processes, industrial component cleaning is not considered glamorous, but today it is more important than ever. Because neither the quality of subsequent processes nor the finished product can be reliably ensured without sufficient component cleanliness. Moreover, due to new products, manufacturing technologies, and materials, not only are requirements changing, but they are often becoming more stringent regarding technical cleanliness. As a navigator of component cleaning, the FiT e. V. addresses these challenges at this year's parts2clean in Stuttgart from October 11 to 13.

Experts support, inform, and discuss

This includes support offered on all trade fair days through basic knowledge and recommendations for action, as well as cross-technology initial consulting for various tasks in industrial component cleaning. On the exhibition stand's activity area (Hall 4, Stand B01/C01), the first day will focus on information, discussion, and exchange of experiences with FiT members. Topics include, for example, the fine cleaning of modern structural components. The presentation "Cleaning in Medical Technology" provides an overview of how cleaning is currently divided in this industry. Visitors will also get insights into the fascinating world of ultrasonic cavitation, understanding the phenomenological relationships of ultrasonic cleaning mechanisms and bubble dynamics. Solutions for typical problems with practical examples will be presented to ensure stable and controlled cleaning processes.

The lecture program on the second day, which offers insights into FiT's current work topics, is also impressive. It covers, among other things, the new guideline framework for process solutions, with a focus on discussion with users alongside information. The fact that FiT is active well beyond Germany's borders is demonstrated by the presentation of the Manufacturing Cleaning Association (MCA), the US professional association. In addition to aspects of collaboration between MCA and FiT, visitors can learn a lot about the US market and partial cleaning in the USA through the discussion round. Initiated by FiT, industrial component cleaning will be included in academic education for the first time in the winter semester 2022/23. The content of the lecture series "Industrial Component Cleaning," initially offered as an elective in the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering program at the Berlin University of Technology, will be presented. There will also be a lecture on current challenges in the disposal of cleaning chemicals, followed by a discussion and Q&A session. Topics such as the federal trace substance strategy and chemicals in wastewater will be addressed. Another contribution will focus on the support FiT provides to its members in press work. Under the motto "Industrial Component Cleaning 2030," an expert talk including a discussion round will explore trends in industrial component cleaning.

First presentation of the FiT2clean Award

Another highlight at the component cleaning navigator's stand will take place on the third day of the trade fair (October 13) with the inaugural presentation of the FiT2clean Award. The award, endowed with 10,000 euros and a one-year free membership in the association, will be awarded annually in the future and recognizes outstanding achievements and solutions to current challenges in industrial component cleaning.
