The industry is undergoing a transformation at an unprecedented pace. The impacts in the field of industrial component cleaning are highlighted by the 32nd Specialist Conference "Industrial Component Cleaning," during which the Professional Association for Industrial Part Cleaning e. V. (FiT) celebrates its 20th anniversary. During the anniversary event on September 11 and 12, 2024, in Dresden, the 3rd FiT2clan Award will also be presented.

The motto of this year's conference, "FiT – 20 Years in the Service of Industrial Component Cleaning – A Look Back and Two Forward," emphasizes that this event is about more than just milestones in the development of industrial part cleaning from the perspectives of plant technology, chemistry, and measurement technology. The focus is on current and future challenges across various industries and the corresponding developments in cleaning technology and procedures, as well as dialogue with cleaning experts from different fields. Solutions will be presented to meet the changed cleaning requirements caused by industrial transformation processes in a process-safe, economical, and resource-efficient manner. The conference, organized by fairXperts, along with an accompanying exhibition, will take place on September 11 and 12, 2024, at the Dorint Hotel in Dresden.

Know-how and innovations for today and tomorrow's requirements

The diverse two-day program includes plenary lectures on the impacts and challenges arising from the mobility transition from the perspective of an automotive supplier in industrial component cleaning. It will also cover cleanliness requirements in selected industries, such as prior to coating, the final cleaning of medical technology, hydraulic, or vacuum components. What media are currently used in industrial component cleaning, and with what focus? How does national/international chemical legislation influence media development, and what are the current trends? The presentation "Industry Check Cleaning Media – Application and Effect" provides answers. Developments in solvent and aqueous cleaning over time, as well as the evolution of processes and procedures in plant technology, will be examined. Additionally, information on methods for partial component cleaning, including CO2 snow blasting, laser, and plasma cleaning, and their applications, will be on the agenda. When it comes to cleanliness analytics in component cleaning, participants will receive an overview of methods ranging from simple wipe tests to insightful spectroscopy. The presentation on VDA 19 traces the history up to the current status and offers a look at future developments. With the new guidelines "Process Solutions for Industrial Component Cleaning," FiT takes a step toward knowledge compilation and transfer, presenting the work of the dedicated technical committee in a lecture. The session "Odyssey of Component Cleaning 2030 – Are Requirements Spacy and Unreachable?" explores possible developments of surface cleanliness requirements up to 2030 for high-purity applications.

FiT2clan Award 2024 – Conference Participants Decide

One of the highlights of the conference is the presentation of the €10,000 FiT2clean Award, which will be awarded for the third time on September 11. Prior to the award ceremony, the three finalists will present their submitted solutions in an elevator pitch to the conference participants, who will then vote to decide the winner.

The program is complemented by an accompanying exhibition, providing participants with the opportunity to learn about new products and developments in industrial cleaning technology and to exchange direct experiences with experts. The conference is aimed at specialists and managers, engineers, and technicians from development and design, technology, process engineering, work preparation, manufacturing, production planning, and quality assurance from various industries.
