First trade fairs back in the halls of Messe Luzern

The two trade fairs AM Expo and Swiss Medtech Expo will definitely take place from September 14 to 15, 2021, in the halls of Messe Luzern. This will be the first time in almost two years that it will be possible to gather in person to learn about professional 3D printing and medical technology.

The organizers of AM Expo and Swiss Medtech Expo have made a decision: the two trade fairs will be held as in-person events at Messe Luzern from September 14 to 15, 2021. "We are very pleased that we now have clarity and can provide our exhibitors with the necessary planning security," says Sara Bussmann, project manager of the two industrial fairs.

Trade fairs are allowed again

Messe Luzern was able to make this decision based on the federal government's reopening strategy. On May 26, 2021, it was announced that trade fairs for professionals and the general public would be permitted again starting July 1, 2021. Capacity restrictions are to be aligned with those of shopping centers. If access to the fair is restricted to vaccinated and recovered persons as well as individuals with a negative test result, capacity limits can be reduced even further. "To protect all involved and at the same time conduct two successful fairs, we will develop a comprehensive safety concept based on the current guidelines," explains Sara Bussmann.

The project manager also finds the three-phase model for easing measures, adopted by the federal council, encouraging. In the third phase, remaining restrictions will be lifted. Sara Bussmann states: "Based on the current vaccination situation in Switzerland, we expect this normalization phase to occur in the summer. Therefore, we are now planning the AM Expo and Swiss Medtech Expo 2021 in Lucerne."

First-time parallel fairs

The AM Expo and Swiss Medtech Expo will take place simultaneously for the first time. "We are convinced that this will offer added value to exhibitors and visitors," says the project manager.

In recent years, the AM Expo has established itself as a competent meeting point for additive manufacturing and offers the opportunity to learn about the current state of professional 3D printing in a practical way. It is aimed at experts from various fields of application – including medicine. Especially these professionals will receive information, inspiration, and networking opportunities at Swiss Medtech Expo. It is the trade fair and symposium for Europe's third-largest medtech market. And particularly in medical technology, 3D printing technology holds a high significance, which is why visitors of Swiss Medtech Expo can also benefit from exhibitors at the AM Expo. Admission to both trade fairs is included in the ticket price.
