First and only signal pole with EHEDG approval
Now also for ceiling and floor installation
The LED signal tower CleanSIGN was specifically designed for use in cleanrooms, as well as in the hygiene and food sectors. Considering that inspections and analysis procedures are becoming increasingly stringent, the Swabian company WERMA Signaltechnik has launched the first and only signal tower with EHEDG approval (European Engineering and Design Group). From the very beginning, existing standards and guidelines (e.g., Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC) were taken into account, as well as expert opinions in the field of "Hygienic Design" (e.g., TU Munich, Weihenstephan, and cleanroom technology - Fraunhofer Institute).
Particularly in the beverage and food industry, but also in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries or in the manufacturing of electronic components, high requirements are placed. The need for reliable hygiene standards and consistently implemented guidelines is becoming increasingly important. This begins with the design and planning of new equipment.
What applications are in the foreground?
In addition to its use in traditional food production, manufacturing processes in cleanroom environments are also a focus. The production, processing, and assembly of small and micro-components demand the highest air purity standards. Since the LED signal light CleanSIGN meets the high air cleanliness class 2, its use in the semiconductor industry, microelectronics, medical research, pharmaceuticals, optics and laser technology, aerospace, or nanotechnology can be carried out without hesitation.
Attractive: new product version
The signal device manufacturer WERMA has now further developed its proven signal tower CleanSIGN. The product is now also available for ceiling and floor mounting. The new version allows the tower to be easily installed overhead in cleanrooms on the ceiling. Like the first variant with angle mounting, the product development features a variety of technical and structural refinements that significantly contribute to product safety.
What is Hygienic Design?
The term "Hygienic Design" refers to a hygiene- and cleaning-friendly construction of all machines, systems, and components used in hygiene-critical areas for the production of food, as well as pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and biotechnological products. Furthermore, "Hygienic Design" includes design principles to avoid structural weak points that could pose hygiene-related hazards or increase the risk of infection, disease, or contamination.
A multitude of refinements
Thanks to its compact design, the CleanSIGN, for example, has no flat surfaces, grooves, or seams where dirt can accumulate. This prevents contamination and significantly reduces the risk of contamination. The 3° slope required by EHEDG has been consistently implemented in the CleanSIGN: A 30° slope of the housing upper part and angle ensures rapid drainage of liquids, quick cleaning, and good visibility.
Design for easy cleaning saves time and money
Thanks to its hygienic construction, the cleaning effort for the CleanSIGN is significantly reduced, and the removal of dirt is easy and residue-free. Additionally, energy and cleaning agents are saved. The polyamide housing of the CleanSIGN is approved according to the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) and is therefore food-safe and resistant to cleaning and disinfecting agents. Furthermore, the tower and mounting unit are made as a single cast, avoiding additional connection points where dirt could accumulate.
Long lifespan and LED technology
The bright CleanSIGN is maintenance-free thanks to the use of LED technology and has a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours. The integrated, loud buzzer also ensures signaling for all persons out of sight. Various lighting solutions are possible through the RGB/RGY variants: different colors and lighting effects can thus be displayed in a single device.
