Due to the high risk of contamination with germs and bacteria, conventional screw connections do not meet the requirements in hygiene-sensitive production areas. Specifically, ball head screws made from stainless steel 1.4404 by NovoNox KG contribute sustainably to increased safety while simultaneously optimizing cleaning levels.

Ball head screws with a high safety factor

The components feature highly polished surfaces and are ideally suited as connecting elements for attaching panels, door fillings, and Plexiglas covers due to their optimal properties. The particularly large head contact surface and a recess on the threaded shank ensure a stress-free, uniform distribution of force on the respective substrate. Additionally, the head height has been kept as low as possible. Thanks to flat screw heads that do not protrude, necessary cleaning work can be performed comfortably and safely. The ball head shape has an extremely low surface roughness of less than Ra 0.8 µm, preventing dirt, product residues, and cleaning residues from adhering.

In fall 2016, NovoNox KG will launch a trade fair novelty: highly polished ball head screws in hygienic design equipped with a new, patented safety drive. This prevents unauthorized access in advance. This is particularly relevant when safety checks in hygienic areas must not be tampered with, such as in light switches, barriers, or door positions.

Hygienic USIT® for highly sensitive hygiene areas

For highly sensitive application areas, NovoNox KG also offers ball head screws in the Hygienic USIT® variant. These components are additionally equipped for use with a special sealing washer from Freudenberg Sealing Technologies. The larger head contact surface, the rounded collar, and a centering shank for the USIT® washer ensure maximum safety. This also enables a pairwise use on the inside and outside with a ball head screw Hygienic USIT® and the corresponding counterpart with an internal thread.
